tattoo paul

I am a tattooer from the north of England. I started off drawing tattoo's at the tender age of 12 (dont ask why, i dont know myself). At 16 (1985) i was tattooing in my bedroom or any room my friends at the time would let me tattoo them. I started working at a busy shop in Blackpool and from there i met a great tattooer from Fleetwood called Phil Ellis. I think Phil saw in me my passion for tattooing and after a couple of years of being tattooed there (and becoming good friends in the process), Phil asked me if i would like to learn with him. I could'nt belive it, the tattoo gods were calling, i still see Phil to this day and i,am forever in is dept for what he did for me. I worked in a few more shops before getting my own place in Bolton. In 1998 at the First Eye Of The Hand tattoo convention i entered 2 pieces, a tribal and a leg piece on a friend of mine called Nick, i came away from there with 2 first place awards,( Best Tribal and Best Male Large) i was smiling for a month haha. I have worked in various shops up and down the county and at the moment i am looking to travel again (itchy feet syndrome). I love doing large scale work from Tribal (i know some of you think its boring but its a style i like) to jap work (a vast area to study). Tattooing is my life and i could'nt imagine life without it, just a quick rant, all you newcomers try and remember the old timers, if it was,nt for them we would'nt be here doing this great art today. I also play drums in my spare time (and they never ask me does it hurt or any stupid questions for that matter haha)i hope you enjoy my site feel free to leave comments or drop me a line. be good and be lucky Paul
