About Me

Imagine if you went to a show, and up on stage you saw John Mayer, Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, and Jack Johnson jamming away, you would be in guitar heaven. Sean Currier combines all of those talents into his eclectic style. When asked about what genre he plays, he simply replies, “I just go out there and play, I don’t really think about what genre and style I fit.” Its that kind of attitude that allows you to really connect with Sean’s music.
A Detrot native, he started playing guitar, because of the “culture shock” of moving south Florida, where he struggled with adolescence, parent's divorce, and missing friends and family. He spent his days learning Van Halen guitar licks off the radio. After the radio lessons, Sean started playing some of the local hot spots in Ft. Lauderdale, and enrolled as a classical guitar major in the local junior college. He recalls looking for the “rock guitar” option, but the only options were classical and jazz. He attributes his polished skills to the time he spend learning classical guitar.
Sean currently resides in Knoxville, TN, where has been for the past 10 years. He has self produced an album titled, “A Night Like This...Live In Nashville" recorded live at the Mercy Lounge / Cannery Ballroom. This live CD was recorded at a showcase at the Gospel Music Association last year. He also has had a summer tour for the past 8 years, and just finished filming “Unplugged”, which is an acoustic guitar show that will air on local cable.
Whether playing, leading worship, or speaking at a conference, SMC has a phenomenal ability to disarm any audience with his quick wit and engaging stage presence. He casts a lasting impression amongst fans and critics alike and has participated in 700+ events for singles, college students, women’s & men's groups, and youth groups across 22 states. And he’s only just begun
Sean’s love for guitar has led him to enrolling at the University of Tennessee where he plans on attaining a Master’s degree in Music Theory. Sean has a passion for teaching, and would not mind being an adjunct professor teaching music to others.
He takes his passion for music a step further with his involvement with World Vision, which is a relief organization that deals with the elimination of poverty for children around the world. He plays shows, and allows people to sponsor children at the show, as he does himself.
Sean loves his fans, and often calls them “the most loyal fans in the world.” You can get Sean’s music on his Myspace page as well as get ringtones there too. Look out for more from Sean Currier in the near future.

"If I may say I like your style of music because it has its own sound. You have great talent and a awesome voice to add. Loved your songs alot! Thanks for being in my circle of friends!"
Mike Young, A & R, Nashville Division, NIXA Country
"...a true collaboration... no way could I have ever written my part if I did not hear the beautiful background music and such a haunting title as "Love Song For No One". That's DEEP stuff!
It made me reach down deep into that place which can hurt so bad, but contains the best part of us all, in order to write this for him to sing! He is a true amazing talent to have that kind of impact on a collaborator! I am grateful he chose me!"---Brandee White, songrwiter
