Paulo was born in Rio de Janeiro September of 1961.He studied guitar with the Maestros Juan Pedro Borges, Carlos Delmiro and Ruy Pereira. Composer and guitarist, Paulo during the 80’s a time when his country was coming out of a military dictatorship towards democracy, Paulo participated in a great amount of shows sharing his ideal for democracy and human solidarity, like the demarcations for the natives of the Alto Xingu, the Seringueiros’ defense in the acrid movement lead by Chico Méndez, like renown artists of that time, like Octavio Burnier, Francis Hime, Chico Buarque, Claudio Nucci, Juca Filho, Ze Renato, Lenine among others. Inhabitant in the Ward of Tijuca North of Rio Paulo, also had access and lived together with a lot of musicians of that area like Marcelo Lessa, Paulo Emilo, Roberto Paciencia, G Do Cavaco, Andrezinho Beloba, Jomar, Lena Pablo many of which are at the present active in Brazil’s music and in other countries. In the year 85’ Paulo met in Rio the great pianist Luis Eca Criador from the famous Tamba Trio through his sons Fred and Igor Eca, and Luis gives Paulo several classes in popular harmony and told everyone that Paulo was a diamond in the rough with a potential as a composer at the end of the year 1980. At the beginning of the 90’s Paulo moves to Europe, specifically Italy, to work in the local restaurants like Piazza with the singer Gil Bardaro also. With the Magico Brasil Orchestra in the year 1991 Paulo arrives to Puerto Rico and met Pedro Guzman, The Jibaro Jazz and worked together in local bars and restaurants like a duet of guitar and cuatro, with Ana Baiana, a singer from Switzerland, also located in the Island, worked with cheby Rodriguez, Ramon Vazquez, Roberto Figueroa and many more. Paulo dedicates his time to composing, musical arrangements. In the year 2005 Paulo left for Brasil, in Rio he had the opportunity of taking three master classes with the guitarist Helio Delmiro, whom in the 80’ performed with Elis Regina And His Super Band with Luisao Maia, Robertinho Silva, Cesar Camargo Mariano y Helio Delmiro. Since 2006 Paulo has been studying with guitarist and puertorrican maestro Fernando Matina whom is teaching him the secrets of Jazz. Paulo also works as a composer of Songs of Love (Songs for Children with Terminal Diseases) and in his new production Bossa Nova he hat 10 songs from which 6 belong to Jobim, Vinicius and other composers, and 4 from his creation, dedicated to his Great Love to Jesus Crist, it is a CD with a lot of Positive Energy and very good taste. The participating musicians in the CD are Davis Ortiz (Drums) Jimmy Rivera (Drums), Pedro Guzman (Bass) Yan Carlos Artime (Keyboards), Pedro Bermudez (Rodhes).Ana Bainana with a special participation in Samba Da Pregunta and Paulo de Sousa, Guitar, Bass and Cavaquinho, Folkloric instrument from his country.
