Lorraine Maher is an exciting, young singer/songwriter whose exceptional talent is capturing not only the eyes and ears of listeners around the country, but also their hearts. Hailing from Co. Offaly, Ireland, the songstress has won praise for her distinctive style and unmistakable voice.Her unique voice is without doubt her strongest attribute. Be it delicate, heart-wrenching melodies or soaring, anthemic choruses, Lorraine has a voice that can capture the spirit and lift the soul. She has a unique fragility in her voice and charming innocence. She has been compared to Dolores O’Riordan but her talent is one that is truly individual.This shines through in her music, which comprises of ‘it’s-OK-to-be-you and me’ anthems, songs about independence, personal strength, individuality and heartache. In a world of constantly shifting trends and societal pressures Lorraine’s songs provide a welcome air of truth and honesty that makes for irresistible listening.In her short but dazzling career the 22 year old has sung live on national television, as a finalist in RTE’s hugely successful ‘You’re A Star’ programme, shared a stage with the likes of the legendary Saw Doctors, Aslan and Damien Dempsey. She has even performed a live duet with award-winning singer/songwriter and fellow county-man Mundy. On top of this she has performed live on air for 98FM in Dublin, Midlands 103FM and on the other side of the Atlantic for KRCX Denver.All this was done while achieving a degree in teaching from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick! With that secured, she is now dedicated full time to writing and performing around the country and in each new venue she is adding to her already vast fan base.Seeing Lorraine on stage one is instantly struck by her natural beauty, which is the perfect compliment to her extraordinary voice and accomplished guitar playing.
