Life After Life

About Me

Life After Life is the title of my personal musical journey.I have been a music fan all my life but my true musical journey began when a relative played Queen's "News of the World" album for me in 1977. Since then, Queen has been my all-time favorite band and the major influence in my musicality.Rush entered my musical taste in the early 1980's when I was accidentally shipped a copy of the "Exit Stage Left" album from the RCA Music Club. I gave it a listen and was hooked. Rush helped to open my mind to groups such as Yes, Pink Floyd and The Doors.I also discovered Triumph in the early 80's, shortly after the release of the "Never Surrender" album. Triumph helped to round out my musical tastes by giving me the raw rock sound that was missing.I attempt to fulfill all of these tastes when I create (which can and does cause some extreme frustration). Primarily a guitarist, I fancies myself a virtuoso vocal harmonizer. Although not accustomed to lead vocals, I can wrap my voice around anyone elses in near perfect harmony.Life After Life is definitely a studio oriented endeavor but I'm always searching for that perfect scenario that will place me in a band of like minded people whose joy is to make great sounding music.

Sounds Like: Brian May's Procession is my attempt to recreate Brian's orchestral guitar intro to the Queen II album. This multi-layered guitar intro was some of Brian's pioneering work in guitar orchestration. Brian recorded this song at roughly the same time he recorded "God Save The Queen", another multilayered, orchestral guitar anthem that was played (and still is) at the end of all Queen's live shows. "God Save The Queen", oddly enough, didn't show up on an album until "A Night At The Opera" a year or so later. I apologize for the recording "pops". When your recording software takes a dump, and you have to edit from one computer to another, problems do occur. Hopefully I will have a better sampling of my work for you in the future.Alex Lifeson's Broon's Bane is my nylon acoustic rendering of Alex's "Exit...Stage Left" intro to "The Trees". Quite a lovely song that shows Alex has his moments in the melodic classical genre. I am unsure if this was a one-off for Alex or if he continued to expand upon this intro on later tours. Either way, I'm sure you'll agree, he created something special here. -Cheers.
