About Me

This is a page in memory of my father the Late Robin O.Carnley. It is my intention to high light his life so that his memory lives on. Please enjoy his page as I add the many photos and special memories of him. Over time this page will change tremendously so bare with me. Angie******************************************************* *******************Robin Oliver Carnley was born September 11, 1951. He grew up in Fairhope, Alabama. He attended Fairhope High School but left early for enlistment in the United States Army, where he received and Honorable Discharge from the Army National Guard March 19,1976. His first weeks of enlistment were spent in the infirmary because his rifle went off and shot him in the toe. It was always a joke that he did it on purpose so he would not have to go through basic training. He has two children, Myself and Will and two Grand Children, Shelby and Tanner. As a child in Fairhope he had a passion for horses. He won many awards at local horse shows. He was a professional livestock hauler and catcher. He also raised premier blood lines of Pit Bulls. This love of dogs and horses continued until his death. Although he was a cowboy at heart, being a Police Officer was in his veins. His Law Enforcement career started when he worked at Lake Forest as a Security Guard in the 1970's. He also did auxilary work with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Floatila. He made his mark in Baldwin County as a home builder. In 1989 he obtained the Chief of Police position in the Town Of Silverhill, Alabama. He attended the South West Alabama Police Academy in 1990. He graduated Top Gun and as President of his class. Through his career he received many awards for his dedication to his job and his community. Some people don't know this but when he was a little boy he use to stomp up and down his Daddy's flat bed pick up truck with a bible preaching. In April of 1997 while working I received a phone call that my father was being brought to the hospital. I was working there at the time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would be in full blown cardiac arrest. His declining condition lead to his death on April 7, 1997. He was 45 years old. He died on Will's 10th birthday. My life is not the same without him. But I have many memories. He is sadly missed by family and a never ending host of friends. If you ever met Daddy you made a friend for life. He was kind to everyone. I heard stories of him having coffee with some of the elders in the community every morning as his way of checking in on them. It was little things like this that made him love his job and the people of Silverhill love him.found this plain layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com

Music:

DADDY LOVED ALL COUNTRY MUSIC. He was a founding member of the band Sweet Water. Back in the 80's they were very popular in Baldwin County. He played rhythm guitar. He could not read music, but he played by ear very well. He sang every top 40 Country song back in the day. He was once phoned by Merle Haggard to play backup in his band. What an honor. ____________________________________________________________
