About Me

I'm a old married guy now thanks to my amazing Catherine! I just finished the M.Div program at Gordon-Conwell Seminary in Massachusetts. I don't know exactly what I want to do when I grow up, but I know it will probably involve teaching in some respect, whether that be in the church or in a Christian school we will find out. I work at Starbucks, which is an amazing job. I get to interact with all kinds of interesting (and not so interesting) people; but best of all... FREE COFFEE!!!

My Interests

Christianity, History and Theology books, Penn State Football, Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball, My Wife, Coffee, Chocolate, Beer.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet Paul Posluszny, so I can ask him how it feels to be the best linebacker in college football history. I'd also like to meet Alton Brown, the host of Good Eats on the Food Network. Really, I just want to be like Alton in the kitchen... and have his amazing knowledge when it comes to all kinds of stuff.

Music:

Gomez, Amos Lee, James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, Jack Johnson, DMB, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, David Crowder Band, Stone Temple Pilots, U2, Weezer. I also enjoy movie scores and some classical music when I'm in the mood.

Movies:

Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Godfather, Braveheart, Forrest Gump, The Incredibles, Million Dollar Baby, Gladiator, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, The Shawshank Redemption

Television:

Good Eats on the Food Network (GREAT show!), The Office, Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, and Arrested Development (RIP)

Books:

JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis are my two favorite fiction authors. They both had the amazing ability to create a different world. I also like: The Confessions of St. Augustine. Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin. Knowing God by J.I. Packer. Foolishness to the Greeks by Lesslie Newbigin. Mission in the Old Testament by Walter Kaiser. Jesus and the Gospels by Craig Blomberg. The Text of the New Testament by Bruce Metzger.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ first and foremost.Paul was pretty cool too.The faithful men and women that have come before me and my brothers and sisters in Christ around the world today.

Psalm 92

I was reading in the Psalms this morning and I came across this one.  I have been frustrated lately with how our culture, especially on TV, has been flaunting its lack of morality and truth. ...
