About Me

Born in the Midlands town of Rugby, Laura Jane Kauffman has been singing all her life. On her 14th birthday she picked up an old guitar and proceeded to compose her first song. Since then she has built up an impressive catalogue of original material.
In September 2003 Laura relocated to Houston, Texas. In between travels to Louisiana, Florida and New York City, she appeared at several Houston music venues including McGonigel's Mucky Duck, the Cosmos Club and J P's Hops House. She was a featured artist on the KPFT HAAM radio show, opened for local bands at Ovations nightclub in Rice Village and was delighted to guest at the legendary Anderson Fair.
Although now based in Brighton, UK, Laura Jane Kauffman's music reflects influences from both sides of the Atlantic. She has two independently recorded CD's 'Late Night Conversation (2003)' and 'Late Night Conversation (Part II)' (2004) and also a Texas/UK complilation avaliable this summer which offers an eclectic mix of highly personal yet universal thoughts and emotions, showcasing her unique songwriting talent and honest delivery.
Since her arrival on the Brighton music scene Laura Jane Kauffman has quickly gained a solid reputation as a popular and polished performer at local venues such as Joogleberry Playhouse, RedRoaster, The Western Front, The Sanctuary and has twice featured as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival.
