My all-time fave is The Stand by Stephen King. A few others include Lightning by Dean R Koontz, Swan Song by Robert McCammon, and anything by David Morrell and James Patterson and most recently, Lisa Gardner. I must also mention Steve Alten. Anyone who writes about killer sharks is OK by me! ;-)
Alice Cooper because he dared to be different. Ace Frehley because he inspired me to play guitar. Steve Vai because he inspired me to continue playing and John Belushi because he made me want to make people laugh.
