Hi,
I’m Marie-Klara, a Swedish girl-woman (with a Cuban father and a British mother) who fell madly in love with Barcelona some years ago. My relationship with the city since then has had quite a lot of ups and downs, like any other passionate love story I guess... But after all I think we make quite a good couple.

When I’m not busy with my blogs or doing silly things with my friends, I work in a company of lingerie designing prints and patterns eventhough I have a degree in architecure. I think that all design in the end is related somehow. In university I tended to make projects having something to do with fashion, textile or printdesign...and always with a touch of delightful nonsense.

Lately I’ve been listening to Au Revoir Simone, Shirelles, Nico, Camera Obscura, France Gall, Francoise Hardy, Sufjan Stevens, Kahimi Karie, the Zombies, Belle and Sebastian, Os Mutantes, the Concretes,the Aislers set and all sorts of freaky Spanish pop while drawing.

I like to read although I don’t have much spare time (sigh!!!). Some of my favourites are Perec, Bulgakov, Strindberg, Hjalmar Bergman, Borges, Thackeray, Proust, Jane Austen, Saramago, Bashevi Singer, Charles Dickens and all sorts of fairy tales.

My design/art/illustration heroes are among many others the Eames, Lily Reich, Tord Boontje, Klaus Haapaniemi, Kazuyo Sejima, Marimekko/Maija Isola, Stig Lindberg, Tove Jansson, Aya Takano, Yoshitomo Nara, Errol LeCain, Andy Warhol, Lovisa Burfitt, Björn Nelstedt, Alphonse Mucha, Aubrey Beardsley, Öyvind Fahlström, Ernesto Neto etc.

Beside that I also like miniskirts and boots, dance too yéyéish, ride my red bike, having hot cocoa, shop food at the “Boquería” market, go to the fleamarket for vintage bargains, travel, go to the cinema, sideburns, flirt and of course doing this...
