So this is my space. And for as long as I am able, I'm going to keep it that way... ************************************************************
******** I still manage this account-- and rather than put the official bio here, I'm gonna let you look at it by visiting my website: www.joetruman.com -- There you can read the fancy stuff if you're interested. I'm the type of person who would prefer to keep it real, or leave it alone. So I try to write songs about things that mean something to me. If you know any thing about Pisces, I'm straight down the middle of that sign, and you'll know me well. Sometimes I get overwhelmed at a big party and slip quietly out the back door unnoticed, if things get too loud and crazy, and I'm feeling no connection... same goes for the music biz. I can't both create and spend a ton of time buzzing around in social networking mode, gathering numbers. And it just strikes me as phony and a waste of everyone's time. I'm not interested so much in numbers of friends, as quality of friends. That means that I still search for folks that interest me, and sometimes someone finds me that I'm thrilled to meet. Sometimes I love loud and crazy parties. I'm content to be a work in progress, although I'm often impatient at my progress. And though I have a product, I am not a product. I'm proud of an album that I like, that has a mellow, listenable sound, and doesn't beat folks over the head with over-production. I'm proud to have worked with John Mock, co-producer of the album, who cared as much as I did, about the songs I've written. I'm proud to have had some successes in songwriting contests like Kerrville New Folk contest as a finalist. I'm happy that some of the folks whose opinions I value think my work is worth investing in and listening to. ************************************************************
******* If you like what you hear, become a friend-- I would welcome your friendship here in my space. I check in as regularly as I can, and respond personally as often as I have time. But remember not to be offended when I slip out the back door of my space to get a breath of fresh air before returning again to catch up in the big party...
