Little Jo started to perform on the Quebec scene in 1971.
In 1990, she co founded the group HURRICANE JANE with Bob Smith (Lead singer) and Dan Marsolais (Guitar). Other members were Richard Jodoin (Drums) and Steven Bastien (Bass).
Hurricane Jane won the CHOM-FM Laurentide-Rock Showdown in 1991. That led to a licensing deal with Aquarius Records. HURRICANE JANE participated in several festivals with other headline acts such as “POWDER BLUES BANDâ€, “BIG GEORGE AND THE BUSINESS†(SCOTLAND), “BRIAN LEE†(NEW ORLEANS) etc. as well as opening act for “TOO MANY COOKSâ€, “HONEYMOON SUITE†and others.
After a while, Little Jo felt the need to come back to a more rootsy kind of music. Consequently, she formed Little Jo and The Hurricane with Dan Marsolais (Guitar), Ross Richard (Drums) Bruno Dumont (Saxophone) and Steven Bastien (Bass). Michel Bernard (Drums) and Denis Coulombe (Bass) joined the group in 1998.
Little Jo received a grant from FACTOR (Founadtion to Assist Canadian Talent on Records) to produce her first album « Blues and more » that came out in 1997.
After only three weeks of existence, (June 1996) Little Jo performed at the Festi-Blues of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu and then played across the province.
