About Me

Victor Jorge A.K.A. Vix was born the youngest of five siblings in the small town of Elkton, Maryland in 1984. Soon after birth Vix moved with his family across the state line to the small state of Delaware where he would spend most of his childhood. At the age of 12 is where Vix would find himself in some of the hardest times of his life. It was because of theses hardships that Vix and his family decided to relocate to Columbus, the capital city of the Midwest state of Ohio. There is where he would meet Alon Aguste who at the time was a youth leader at the local church where Vix began attending shortly after his relocation. All tho music and dancing have all ways been a big part of Vix life, it was not until he met Alon, that Vix discovered his love for B-boying and his place in the Hiphop culture. At the age of 13 Alon began to teach him some of the basic fundamentals of the dance, as well as installing him with the basic fundamental Christian values that would serve as a guide through his hardships as a preteen and on through the rest of his teenage years. Vix began to be apart of his local church as he joined the breakin’ team of his youth’s ministry called “Cypha2000.” He eventually became the leader of the team and changed its name to “Illumination One.” Around the same time Vix began to meet and learn from other b-boys in the local Hiphop scene in Columbus Ohio. There is where he and Alon met up with a few other local b-boys, and would start a b-boy crew called “Bust One Crew.” As the youngest member of the crew, he began to do shows and perform all over the city as well as enter local b-boy battles and competitions. It was because of his crew members that he was given the name B-boy Vix as a tease from the cough medicine “Vicksvaperrubs.” Many years later most of the members of the crew would get older and begin to put there put their main focus and energy on other things besides dance. Meanwhile Vix was still very young and still very much evolved and respected among the rest of the local Hiphop scene in Columbus. At age 19 Vix along with a group of other dedicated b-boys in the city, decided to start a crew based out of Columbus called “Street Symphony Crew.” This crew would eventually grow to have the best dancers across the state of Ohio and was known as the best b-boy crew in the state for many years. Street Symphony began to do shows and tour across the nation as well as compete nationally against some of the best b-boy crews in the country. It was not until April 23, 2005 that he would come face to face with an opportunity that would drastically widen his life’s path as a b-boy. Vix and his crew entered a b-boy competition at the University of Illinois outside of Chicago. Street Symphony went on to win the competition as well as the respect of many in the entire mid west b-boy scene and beyond. Among them was a judge of the competition, by the name of Alien Ness. Alien Ness, who was also the president of the legendary world renowned crew “The Mighty Zulu Kings,” was very impressed by the amount of original flavor, foundation, and text that the members of the crew were using. He went on to give them the honor of being the representatives for the mid west chapter of the legendary crew. Since then Vix has been blessed with the opportunity to travel the world speaking, teaching, performing and competing, along with spreading knowledge of Bboying and Hiphop. Vix is currently teaching classes at his local city of Columbus and plans to relocate back to the east coast to further his career as a b-boy and spread the message abroad of the testimony of the foundation of his faith that kept him strong through his tough times as a teenager as well the foundation of the dance that has kept the art form alive for so many generations and will continue to keep it strong for generations to come.
