Defiant Voice was a 5-piece band from Sacramento, CA. Our influences are many and varied, but we take
particular cues from the bands that have been innovators in their own punk and hardcore scenes; bands
such as Bad Brains, Black Flag, Rites of Spring, Fugazi, Burn, 108, Drive Like Jehu, Botch, Snapcase, Strike
Anywhere, Rise Against, Modern Life is War, and a host of others.
The band had been together since the summer of 2005. The line-up went through some a few changes and
has been solidified with what you see here. The members of Defiant Voice have been involved in punk and hardcore
music for years, and have played in many worthy prior bands. We grew up on punk/hardcore music,
shows, skateboards, and a healthy dose of rebellion, and we still hold strongly to the ethic of our roots. Each of the members are now full-fledged adults. We are the truck drivers, teachers, engineers, and deparment managers upon whose backs this country is built. And in our adulthood, we each continue to live our own defiance.
The only alternative to getting older is getting dead. How you get older is up to you.
Since their formation a short time ago, Defiant Voice has shared the stage with great bands and close
friends, including, Red Tape, Whiskey Rebels, Hanover Saints, Set It Straight, Verse, Down to Nothing, Sinking Ships, Blue Monday, Have Heart, and others.
