Theres no other band thats as radio-ready as Dystalis.
- Barfly Nuvo Magazine -Powerful, honest, and independent. These are just a few words which capture the style and attitude of Dystalis one of the most powerful and inventive hard rock bands to emerge from Indianapolis, IN.Earning their spot well above their peers only after a year of being a band, Dystalis has shared the stage with some of the nations best selling artists and rock legends such as Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Anthrax, Life of Agony, Three Days Grace, and Seether. This five-piece, with their dynamic bottom-heavy sound and gripping melodies, easily allow their carefully crafted mixture of melodic hooks and relentless commanding live sound to fit in with todays leading acts.Aside from opening for national acts in their first year, Dystalis have also appeared on numerous television and radio spots such as The Big Dumb Show (WRZX 103.3 FM) and WISH TV Channel 8s News Special for Spine Aid 2004.In the summer of 2004, Dystalis went in the studio to record their much anticipated debut EP "Recite the Tragedy" to feed their hungry and ever-growing fan-base. The independently released record highlights the bands radio-rock appeal as well as their dark, mysterious, and often savage force that exudes Dystalis uniqueness and musicianship. On the groups debut record, Dystalis originals such as Seven, Reverie, and Descend The Sky feature the bands combination of hard rock licks, stirring choruses, and emotional lyrics; their attention to detail in their careful and precise arrangements lend depth and variety to such stand out tracks as the expressive Thirteen & Never and the confessional ballad Dissolve. We wanted our first record to show that we could write that radio hit, but that we also can create something both expressive and very real, explains Dustin Green, the bands guitarist. Its a record that is very real and honestall the songs are of true accounts, they are all real stories of tragedies which have occurred in our lives and the lives of our friends, adds vocalist Sahar Montalvo. It is hard to deny the bands integrity and emotional power in each of the five songs featured on "Recite the Tragedy". Its a way for us to pay homage to those people who we have seen suffer, those people that we love and care for, says Becket Weir, drummer. The bands full-hearted attempt to convey their emotional stances on the record more than shine through, something Dystalis works hard at to carry with them both in the studio and performing live. Its important for the fans to feel what were feeling when we perform. Its more than just getting up there and playing some songs you wrote in your basement, says Becket Weir, Its about getting the message across to the people you are playing in front of and making sure they leave knowing what the songs are about. Putting this record out is just a way for them to take those feelings home with them. It's heavy, riff-laden, gut-wrenching metal from the Modern Alternative School of Rock."- The Forge -With the release of their first EP, Dystalis is continuing to work on new material and plan to record again within the beginning of the New Year. They persist to remain at the top of their game, to always move forward, and to never look back. This year, the gloves are off, smiles Sahar Montalvo, The story is still unfolding for Dystalisbut this has become a defining moment in our lives and we all know that this is what we are destined for. Look for Dystalis to be the biggest and most influential hard rock band to hail from Indiana in 2005.
