Safetypin Revolution is an all punk rock show that is featured on WUML 91.5, the student run college radio station of UMass Lowell. It was started in May 2007 by Tom Southerton, who also DJ's on the well known Live From The Fallout Shelter radio show on WUML. The music played on this show is all punk rock, but is sure to spread between the different variations of punk rock, including: old school, skate punk, pop punk, melodic punk, emo punk, hardcore punk, folk punk and even a little bit of punk ska. We also make sure to play as many new uprising punk rock bands in order to further help the underground scene. It is a rule at the station that we can not play mainstream bands, which makes it easier for us to promote the lesser known bands of the underground. We currently recieve CD's from Epitaph, Fat Wreck Chords, Victory Records, Dischord Records, Alternative Tentacles, Hellcat Records, and many more. A few of our favorite artists to play on the show are Against Me, Bouncing Souls, Descendents, Refused, Alkaline Trio, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Operation Ivy, NOFX, and Choking Victim. Safetypin Revolution airs Friday Nights from 6PM to 8PM and can be heard via radio at WUML 91.5FM or online at wuml.org. To make requests (which are always welcomed) you can call us at 978-934-4969 or IM us on AIM at WUML Radio. Also, if you feel like sending us your band's music, you can send it to 1 Univeristy Ave. Lowell, MA 01854 C/O WUML/Safetypin Revolution. We are also always looking for bands to come on the show and either play or be interviewed, so send us a message if you are interested. Thanks for listening and we'll see ya in the pit!
