About Me

The boys in a fit of passion at the Emerson. Thanks Lucy.
Warning- Depending on the time-space continuum within your universe, your understanding of technical laws, and your overall attitude towards life, some of the claims made on this profile may or may not be true 60% of the time.
Milieu
n. pl. mi·lieus or mi·lieux
•An environment or a setting.
•The social setting of a mental patient.
•The greatest thing since the 80’s.
•Illegal in 12 states.
•Part of a healthy diet of rock.
This was bound to happen. It usually does when five incredibly hot men find each other at a tetherball tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. The late night car rides, and the hours spent frolicking in the frozen foods section of Kroger. As you can see, we established an unbreakable bond (much like that of sisters) from our inception.
Testimonials:
"Milly who?"- Shaq O' Neal
“These guys are good” – Paul McCartney
“I want an ice cream sundae with Milieu on top” – Carlos Santana
“Whenever I put their cd on, I crank my stereo up to 11” - Anne Heche
“They are the soundtrack to my life”- Wayne Gretzky
“They create the most intrinsically rewarding sounds ever to grace the human ear”- Vladimir Putin
"Hotties"- Keith Olbermann
"These guys are fast as crap"- Danica Patrick
"Holy C"- Peyton Manning
"You should probably give all your money to the members of Milieu" - Rolling Stone
There is another song from the demo on Purevolume. Please check that one out. www.purevolume.com/milieu
All jokes aside, we are attempting to blur the lines of several genres in hopes of producing a cohesive musical arrangement without any boundaries. Our ultimate goal is to create the best music we possibly can.
We are constantly challenging ourselves to become better and more diverse musicians. In the future, we plan on incorporating more instruments into our songs, i.e, bells, cello, clarinet, piano, violin, etc.
We are strong men that enjoy playing music.
We really like to fish.
We are Milieu.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.purevolume.com/milieu
Band Members:

Chuck Smith - Guitar

Chuck was born in a bunker just outside present day Moscow. His love for basket weaving is second only to his love of fine wine. He wears oversized turtlenecks year round and it is said he is unbeatable at Jenga. He holds the world record for most yodels in one minute (7,028).

Kory Burnette - Guitar

Kory is fluent in two languages: English and Metal. His beginnings can be traced back to 1932 when he was found in a ditch in Montana without any recollection of the first 7 years of his life. He was nursed back to health in the pouches of wild marsupials. At the ripe age of 9, he found his first employment as an Alaskan Crab Fisherman. He now owns and operates the 3rd largest llama farm in Kenya. Fun fact: Kory was an extra in Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie video.

Nicholas Snyder - Vocals

Nick was born at an Indigo Girls concert circa 1980. He once defeated the beast Grendal in hand-to-hand combat. He is currently attending Brown University for an advanced degree in Astrophysics. His hobbies include water polo and big game hunting. He is credited with the invention of the Toaster Strudel.

Seth Lykins - Bass

Seth is a horticulture enthusiast and finger painting prodigy. He has attended every major Nascar event in the last 22 years. He once climbed Mt. Everest with nothing but a fork and pure brawn. His love of Indonesian Hair Metal is the driving force behind this band.

Zach Walton - Drums

Zach spends most of his time tending to his pet Alpacas. When he’s not doing that, he’s listening to Ted Nugent and practicing the French Horn. His other hobbies include baking and knife throwing. He is the Co-Founder of the Gilmore Girls Fan Club.

Influences: These are just some of the influences that we have. Please keep in mind that we could easily add hundreds more bands and/or musicians.

Chuck- Thrice, Saosin, Tenebre, Deftones, Lynard Skynard, Circa Survive, Thursday, Minus the Bear, BTBAM, Radiohead, Loudermilk, The Refused

Kory- Tenebre, The Number 12, BTBAM, Hella, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Conor Oberst, Jean Baudin, Nobuo Uematsu

Nick- Fugazi, Muse, Moros Eros, From Autumn to Ashes, Bright Calm Blue, Thom Yorke, Conor Oberst, Saosin, AFI, Me Without You, Coheed and Cambria

Seth- Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, Violent Femmes, Flogging Molly, Radiohead, Rancid, The Pixies, Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, Harley Poe, The Beatles

Zach- The Police, Deftones, Between The Buried and Me, Finch, Refused, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Marco Minnemann, Smashing Pumpkins, Thrice, Rush

Sounds Like: Option (1) Drive Like Jehu, Fall of Troy, Funeral Diner

Option (2) South African rap metal with a hint of Norwegian power pop.

Type of Label: Major
