About Me

"Easy my child- it's just enough to believe. Out of the wild- into what you can conceive." --Van Dyke Parks
I think good music and art are keen. They're probably just about some of the best stuff around, really. I consider myself an interpreter; an aficionado of the cheap and absurd. Pop meets philosophy and comes out smelling of cigarettes and beer.
I think it is better to starve for your art than pay for it.
I like to whoop it up, get it on down, boogie, strut and stroll. I know I'm in the know 'cause I've been down many roads.

My Interests

Spending time enjoying the "little things" that are actually the only things that matter (this is my favorite thing to do, honestly)

Music, Art, Eating, Sleeping, Cooking, Photography, Good Conversations, Learning, Playing Bass, My Cats, Thrift Shopping, Making mix CD's, Dancing and Reading

Favorite Artists: Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Andy Warhol, Richard Hamilton, Larry Rivers, Willem DeKooning, Egon Schiele, Salvador Dali, Cindy Sherman, Gottfried Helnwein, Helmut Newton

I'd like to meet:

I already know enough people- important people. Yet, if you're productive and positive, shoot a line.

Music:

I only listen to worthwhile music.

Movies:

60/70's biker/horror/gang/exploitation films, The Films of David Lynch, The Jerk, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Films of John Waters and documentaries (on anything)

Television:

Back when they made with 'em with a lesson and a smile: 60's/70's/80's sitcoms, PBS

Books:

I could write a book on the books that have impacted my life, but here's a few authors/poets worth inspecting if you want to be as learned as I:
Mark Twain, Joseph Cambell, Arthur Rimbaud, Kurt Vonnegut, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsburg, Emily Dickenson, George Orwell, Abbie Hoffman, Jacklyn Suzanne, Flannery O'Connor and Tim Sandlin

Heroes:
