TJ's music career started at a very young age. At age fourteen, he was already headlining major clubs in the historic Dallas area of Deep Ellum and doing small tours throughout the southeast. After many years of successful shows, write up's in magazines, and a strong following, TJ put down his guitar and walked away from his love. "I just quit caring about the music" he says. "I became jaded and forgot that I played music to have fun. I set unrealistic goals and when I didn't reach them I felt like a failure." Also during this part of his life TJ started battling addiction. "Those were dark days. Lost in depression and drugs I completely quit writing and playing guitar for years.” TJ spiraled down but luckily his family and friends helped pull him out and he got sober. “I woke up, grabbed my old guitar, blew off the dust and proceeded to throw up my soul! It was an awesome thing! I had all these songs pouring out of me. The coolest thing was, I was having fun again."
TJ’s music caught the attention of a major production company and he recently signed with them. “It’s a win win situation for me” he says. “They are paying to put me in the recording studio, marketing my music on radio and shopping me to major labels. I have a stellar producer and couldn’t be happier working with him.” TJ’s new CD Detour Phoenix is being highly anticipated by many and if it’s anything like his old stuff, it’s sure to be a must have.

TJ is currently performing all over Texas but mainly in the Dallas/Ft Worth/Waxahachie area. His performances are acoustic, intimate and wonderful to watch. People of all ages are amazed at his songwriting, guitar playing and vocals. His musical talents are truly a gift from God. Columbia Records recording artist and producer Jay Gillian said about TJ. “He is a gifted musician. His songs take you on a journey through life. You feel his love, loss, and happiness. You must see him live, that is when he really shines. TJ is a true gift and in my opinion one of the best singer/songwriters Texas has to offer.”

TJ has spent almost eight months of this year in Phoenix, AZ. The time on the road and away from home gave him plenty of new insight to write about. He has written many amazing songs that have an "old soul" feeling to them. His writing talent is just as unbelievable as guitar playing and vocals.
