My name is Tominika but I perform under the name TOMI. I am 23 and a native of White Plains, NY although my roots were nurtured in Tuskegee, Alabama. I have been pursuing music as a career since the age of 12 and writing music since the age of 8. Over the years I have competed in numerous talent show and won. In 1999 at the age of 15 I performed on the "Queen Latifah Show" as my idol Toni Braxton and won. Currently I am working on my album entitled "UNTAMED". My hope for the album is to introduce me to the world by displaying my vocal strength and versatility as an artist and strength and maturity as a writer. I chose the title "UNTAMED" because I feel that the word epitomizes who and what I. Untamed means being independent of rules and boundaries yet not being uncivilized, but instead having finesse and grace in doing things your way. I often refer to myself as a panther. The untamed panther, to me, is like no other in the feline family. Unlike the Lion, it does not need to prove its strength by intimidating the weaker of the species. Unlike the alley cat, it is fearless of its canine nemesis and has a presence that demand immediate respect and attention. Everything from the color of its coat, to the its walk, to its style of hunting makes the panther stand out. Although it is naturally an UNTAMED cat, it still has a degree of elegance and class about it!
