When we're not on MySpace (okay - when KEVIN isn't on MySpace) harassing our Friends, we spend a lot of our time: gardening and working in the yard; taking looong walks or hikes; going on nature drives (some really cool State Parks in the vicinity!); cooking at home for ourselves or for small gatherings of friends; planning on what we're going to do next to the house and then procrastinating on those ideas for a year or two.....
We like to travel when we can and we spend time every summer at our condo at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Our first "real" vacation as a couple was to the Big Island of Hawaii in October, 2006. That was a fantastic trip to say the least, and we made many good friends while in Kona. ALOHA at ya, Loren & Steve!!
We also enjoy spending a lot of our free time with family and friends. We're not much "into" the bar scene, but we're also not opposed to going out once in awhile to catch up with everyone. Bars are not a good place to have a decent conversation unless you can understand American Sign Language (we only know a few select hand/finger gestures), so we have a better time having folks come over to the house for a visit!
If you want to know more about our interests view our Photo Albums - lots of stuff in those!
New friends or buddies, but especially looking to hear from acquaintances, friends, and family that we already know and maybe haven't heard from in awhile.....
We browse our Friends pages looking for new Friends to make on MySpace (not quite addicted yet, but getting there!). If we ask you to be a Friend it's probably for one of the following reasons:
- Your picture caught our attention and your Profile is interesting, unique, has great music on it, or you say things that we really like. And if you have intriguing "deep thoughts" posted on your page we'll ask to be your Friend in a split-second!
-Another thing that gets our attention is sarcastic, facetious, or ironic humor! If you leave a great Comment on someone's page, or if your page has gems of wit on it, then we want to be your friend. And if you don't accept our Friend Request then SCREW YOU!! LOL - see how funny that is?!?
- We have common interests with you that could spark conversation. I'll be the first one to shoot you an FYI note if I've heard about something interesting going on I think you would like to know about.
- You love your family and friends, you have house pets, or maybe working in the yard or just enjoying the great outdoors is of interest to you. These are all BIG "likes" for us!
- You're someone we've met, maybe only briefly, and we want to get to know you better or keep in touch with you.
- Or maybe you're just HOT and we want to have your pic purtyin' up our Friends area! ;)~
If you accept our Friend request we'll be sure and get a note of appreciation posted back on your page within a couple of days. And then we'll post stuff or shoot you a message every couple of weeks or so....
We aren't just "Friend collecting" or anything like that - we REALLY want to make Friends on MySpace!! Meeting and interacting with diverse people from all walks of life is a good thing so we hope that's what happens for us on here.
We enjoy anything with a good beat and/or lyrics. Even though we don't go clubbing much we do listen to a lot of dance club mix and radio edit music. Checking out everyone's pages on MySpace has exposed us to a TON of new music!!
And we like Britney Spears new CD, Blackout! She may have some issues in her personal life if you believe the tabloid stories (which I do), but she still knows how to create great music!!
And while we're on the topic of Music, here's a video for Shane that hopefully makes him understand just how much he means to me (make sure you stop the Profile song that may be playing in the background - nothing worse on a page than dueling Music!). And yes, I was "into" Country music for about a year. WHAT?!?
LOVE YA, BABE!!!
Sci-Fi; Comedy; Suspense; Horror; Anything that has zombies in it. Yes - zombies!; B-movies (the badder the better!!); Indie films; Foreign films as long as they have English subtitles; And if a movie says it's "based on real-life events", we're there!
Some specific movies that we like are: While You Were Sleeping; Peggy Sue Got Married; the Star Trek series of movies (except #5 - that one was BAAAAAD!!); 9 to 5; Big Business (the one with Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler as twins separated at birth); and a whole bunch of others that we pull out of the rack and view from time to time......
Weeds (LOVE IT!!!); Dexter; The Riches - hope it's coming back on this season....; MXC on SpikeTV - it's frickin' hysterical; Keeping Up Appearances; The Nanny; Star Trek - Voyager; The Simpsons; South Park; Family Guy; Futurama; Robot Chicken; Drawn Together; Squidbillies (they remind me so much of my family); Kathy Griffin - My Life on the D List; MadTV - especially the ones with Mo Collins and Stephanie Wier; and almost anything they show on HGTV like Moving Up, House Hunters, Curb Appeal, Designed to Sell, My House Is Worth What?, What You Get For the Money, etc......But we really don't watch a lot of television. Really!!
Apparently we are too busy watching television to read books as I can't think of any we've either one read of late, but as for reading material we currently have around the house: Readers Digest; People; National Enquirer (GREAT for bathroom reading); Unique Homes; International Luxury Homes; The Dupont Registry of Homes; Motor Trend; Car & Driver; The LaPlata Home Press (my hometown newspaper - it's published in Missouri by a friend I went to school with. HI BECKY!!); Us; Wired; Out; Home Gourmet....
And some publications that are better left unsaid but you can find them in the upstairs bathroom magazine rack if you want to look at the pictures in them!!
