Downcast Theory provides the ultimate hard rock experience, combining driving guitar riffs with soaring, powerful vocals. The raw energy of their live show brings their music to life, creating an experience only attained by being on the front lines. Their time has come. The Downward Spiral Has Begun.
Downcast Theory, based in Central New Jersey, first came together in June of 2007.
What began as an informal acoustic project between long-time friends Matt Simon (Lead Vocals) and Jake Raynor (Lead Guitar), soon launched itself into a rapidly growing hard-rock collaboration. Over the course of the next few months, Matt “Raundawg†Raunick (Drums) joined the duo after sporadic stints in a number of local bands, and after a frustrating search, the elusive Kenny Earl (Bass) became the missing piece that finalized the lineup.
Front-man Matt Simon credits the band’s rapidly growing success to their dynamic chemistry and their ability to work cohesively as a band. Keeping original membership has been an important part of their growth as a band and as artists. Downcast Theory’s style is heavily influenced by hard-rock powerhouses Sevendust, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether.
Every song is painstakingly crafted to create the best sound to the greatest effect. No vocal is written without careful consideration. No instrument is left unnoticed. Their music was made to be heard.
And it will be.
"...one of the bands that seem to play from the heart...the emotion by Simon makes for an undeniable star quality." -Brian Rademacher (RockEyez)
"Though their tunes are easy to rock out to, the ultimate mark of originality for this band is its fan’s dedication and the band’s constant energy." - Maureen Nolan real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
