Johnny Arthur
Download Johnny's Latest Mix Here! (DJmag Covermount Mix Cd)Resident at London’s now infamous techno shindig Chicken Nickers, at just 24 years of age Johnny Arthur has already played alongside the likes of Paul Woolford, Jennifer Cardini, Martin Landsky, Ellen Allien, Alex Smoke and Magda. But time and time again it’s his closing set of deep and emotive, driving techno that becomes the real highlight of the night. When off deck duty Johnny’s busy whipping up a storm in his own ‘Bunker’ studio – August saw Cologne’s prolific MBF, launch their new digital offspring to the tune of his blistering Double A-sider Johnny Hates Jazz and Red Planet - the first fruits of an arsenal of fresh meat feverishly waiting in the wings.
But that’s not all. 12 months after gracing DJmag’s ‘gotta be big feature’, Arthur’s now emphatically secured his position as the next ‘gonna’ be big thing - bagging the latest instalment in their acclaimed live:at covermount series. Recorded at Herbal for his native Chicken Nickers, the hour long mix represents his most exciting work to date. Uniting future gems from today’s most vital techno luminaries with choice morsels from his own next generation productions; all displaying a skill and cunning that punches way beyond his years.
"Johnny Arthur is one of the best up-and-coming DJs I've heard. Playing a constant thread of resolutely off-its-chonkers music with a leaning towards the unpredictable, he can't go wrong. Good work, young man!" Paul Woolford
"I've listened to lots of young DJs during my time as Editor of DJ Magazine, but Johnny Arthur has something special. A real talent with the potential to go stellar." Lesley Wright
"Johnny Arthur is a wicked DJ and will go a long way. Excellent choice of records, cool order and top mixing. He's also got a great attitude which is very rare these days." Jonathan Lisle
"I've heard him & he's fucking wicked." Quinn (differentGear)

La Greve Generale
Download "Sounds Like Disco Tetris Mixtape" Here! Missing Toof
If this is not on your ipod, zune or what have you, stop that. Get this shit. This mix is nothing short of what you should demand from a dj set.... I wish I was a baller, I'd love to have these kids stateside...
La Greve Generale, raising your standards & making electro clash a threat again. Add them on myspace & watch out for new mixes & mashes by these two.
Big Stereo
[Rave or Die:] I'm down.
stockholmbeatconnection
[Soixante-trois:] this superb mixtape from La Grève Générale … drops blends of everything from Uffie to swedish hardcore legends Refused Amazing! ... Big Up to La Grève Générale
[Nanomix un:] Brilliant stuff!
Slutty Fringe
La Grève Générale are a production duo based in the salubrious belly of East London that is Hackney and seem to be most happy when making mixes of buff hype proportions ...the Soixante-Trois Minutes mix they put together recently certainly is something that I wish I had the talent and patience to do myself.

[Ice cream Sunday:] I don't know much about these guys, but I like it.These guys wear their musical tastes on their sleeves and incorporate other tracks outside of the typical blog norm.
JetPilot
[Soixante-trois:] This is completely fucking mind blowing... I don't even especially like hip-hop (and I rarely swear, that's how good it is), but this mix is just too funky and excellent NOT to like in it's entirety. It even has Rage Against the Machine mixed in. How sweet is that?
[Cheese on toast:] The music actually makes me want to sample the combination of sambuca and toast. Because the music is so tasty.
The Sky Report
... an awesome DJ duo from the UK who are, and I quote, "making electroclash a threat again". These guys, Gav and John to be specific, create stellar mixes, interweaving new electro artists such as THIEVES LIKE US and SEBASTIAN for example, with older classics ranging from 70's glitter - ROXY MUSIC, vintage robot electro - GARY NUMAN, and 80's hip-hop - SALT N PEPA, resulting in pure crystalized fun... To hear and download an endless selection of cool mixes by la grève générale, visit the boys on Myspace now!

That Brit DJ duo La Grève Générale are at it again! Their latest mix RAVE OR DIE was performed live recently at the Rocklands Party in London. And now we have it all right here for you to download so you can pretend you're the greatest DJ on Earth at your next house party. The mix is just insane, drawing upon genres that would never rub shoulders without a full-scale riot ensuing, though here they blend together perfectly as if lines had never been drawn in the first place. Does that make any sense at all? Exactly.
Straight from the Whore's mouth
[Soixante-trois:] A most excellent mix
Superfibre
This is pure disco punk dance rock genre-bending fun from the Grève Générale boys... The first half of the mix is hiphop led, with changing tempos and some genius bootlegs, but for me this gets a lot more funky about half way through, when the lads seem to find their form - the cut-up rap samples and distortion give way to some more straight up electro-house, and the mixing starts to flow. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or dance when Lionel Ritchie cuts in during Skinny Girlz, but it's worth listening just for the that.
cat dirt sez
these cats are a duo from london/hackney(represent!) ... there is more going on here then simple mash ups, a la girl talk (song + song + sample of song + sample of other song). other then that, there are a lot of hot tracks that we should all be familiar with

[Nanomix un:] I'm also really into this new mix by LA GREVE GENERALE their slogan reads, "making electro-clash a threat again" and that's completely true. this mix is short, sweet, and gonna make you sweat so GET YO' RIOT SHIELDS UP.
ps: track list will kill you
Pop Cultureddd
It has been a long while since I've been into mixes. Nothing has particularly caught my attention in a while... But yesterday Missing Toof posted an exclusive new mix by La Grève Générale ... Even though I am chronically ill this has managed to perk me up. So if you are going out any time soon get this whacked on before hand... And you'll probably end up staying in and throwing a massive party in your own house and causing tremendous amounts of damage. I bet it'd be worth it though. Invite me!
