I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Upstart and moody and happy and sad wandering around this thing you call a town, I don't rightly know how to describe myself but what I've heard is that I smile more in person, I'm happier than expected, but I'd disagree...I have to live with me-self, you know, and who would be the best judge of that? Exactly. But were I to meet myself, to run headlong into me on the street, save me from a runaway bus or bump into me at the coffeehouse, I'd say he's a contradiction, that boy. The grown up that hates grown ups, the scenester that hates scenesters. He's nowhere and everywhere and just wants to get back to somewhere and somebody, if you know where they are, or anything about them. He's obsessed with being put together and knowing what you speak of and defending what you say, and doesn't tolerate fools and thinks the world is too lenient of slack and too harsh of finding your own small little corner, the dark one with good accoustics, a droning bass line, and ten guitars knawing at each other fighting the voice of one person trying to find one way out as best they can.All my joys to this are folly, Naught so sweet as melancholy.

My Interests

Adventures, lost & found friends, suits tightly fitted and ties loosely tied, sad songs and their happier surroundings, feeling at home and feeling completely lost, co-conspirators and ne'er-do-wells wandering around and making the best of the big blue/green mess, deserts, mountains, snow and water, ships and planes and ways to get places and people to get to, one way or another. Here comes a regular.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody with a furrowed brow.

Or whoever created this, the most perfect thing ever filmed:

Television:

The Mighty Boosh.

Heroes:

we could be.

My Blog

Jerry Falwell surprised to find himself in:

hell. Here's how to get to heaven, Jerry: do everything the opposite of you.

A candidate who doesn't pander? No way.

While Hillary Clinton is going around adopting a fake southern accent at southern black churches, Obama said this in a speech...in Detroit...to car-company execs. "For years, while foreign competitors...

Hot Christians.

I just had a revelation. I've figured it out. Before, I couldn't understand why the Christian right was so vehemently against the idea of global warming...putting it right up there with evolution as a...

Happysad and drinking alone.

I spent the latter half of this evening drinking cheap red wine and listening to records. Recently I decided to outfit my living room (the area with the giant arc-lamp in that one photo) with my turnt...

Barack Obama said this at a speech over the weekend: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. It doesn't bend on its own,"it bends because each of us individually, we put ...

The sun also rises.

Apologies to Hemmingway for stealing his title. But isn't it a beautiful set of words? This is about the return of hope, sanity, and reason to a country that has all but lost it. I'm referring to Wedne...

A suggestion. A story.

This is actually a true story. Michael Stipe recited it once or twice as a preamble to a song they used to perform, and this is how he told it:..A man had a house, he built a wall down the middle of i...

I want a new Democratic Party.

The Democrats are coming down on Hugo Chavez for criticizing President Bush. One of them said nobody outside of our own citizens have a right to talk about our president like that. Why oh why are thes...

what, I agree with the pope?

So the middle east has erupted once again in protests and screaming and burning of things because the Pope said the concept of of jihad was 'unreasonable.' So, what about your screaming and burning of...
