About Me

Hmm...I come from a totally non-musical background. The only music my parents listened to as a child was of traditional greek variety, my sister was a teeniebopper in the 80s, and she played a heavy dose of Michael jackson, Paula Abdul, U2 and others. My high school is one of the least diverse in the country, this lead to many angrys night wondering why I was sitting in my friends basement getting drunk to Dave Mathews blasting in my ear. Ironicly, I was introduced to turntables by a friend who was a Classic Rock Nut. At first it was for fun, when I couldn’t find a party to go to, and it was too cold to skate, I could sit up in my room for hours scratching aaahhh and Frreeessshhh sounds. Through the first 5 years the turntable was a time waster and stress reliever. With no Dj friends, I wasn’t even really learning new scratches, and later found out I was doing the ones I did know WRONG! WTF I thought. After two years of school @ Purdue, I realized, I hate this town. So I transferred to DePaul, and started staying in Chicago. Started a hip hop group, started Djing spots in Lincoln Park, and I still was dissapointed at where I was @. I quit the spots I had been doing, moved to Wicker Park with some DJs, and started practicing for Battles. At the same time I met some talented musical minds who taught me about Breaks, and music in general... So I have realized, music isn’t about blowing up, making money, playing gigs, getting girls...While all of those are nice, music is about expanding your mind, learning, and progressing...end of story.
