My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Women writers, novelists and poets of all backgrounds and creeds who are using their words to spark thought and movement, hope and faith.

Books:

Goodness, I have suitcases of books so there's too many to list all of them but for my favorite authors I'd have to start with Mizz Zora Neale Hurston who made the world realize that profound writing doesn't always have to look, sound or come from one place. Richard Wright (Native Son), Chinua Achebe (Things Fall Apart & No Longer At Ease), (Playwright) August Wilson, Ralph Ellison, Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Toni Morrison, Terry McMillan, Umm Zakiyyah for breaking the ice and writing fiction from her heart and experience about the African American Muslim experience, Widad Delgado, Jamila Kolocotronis, Karen Quinones Miller, Delores Phillips, and of course Mr. Omar Tyree (Flyy Girl).

Heroes:

My Lord, who is my Sustainer and my prophet (saws) who generously left behind the best guidance to travel through this strange life, and my parents: Abbi and Ummi
