Ykspihlajan Työväen Näyttämö – YTN (Ykspihlaja’s Workers' Theatre) is one of the oldest and the most respected workers’ theatres in Finland. YTN was established in 1907 and since then it has won several awards in the different contests. Finnish Broadcasting Company – YLE (c.f. BBC) has made two documentaries of YTN and theatre is still running very well.YTS
Ykspihlajan Työväen Soittajat – YTS (Ykspihlaja’s Workers' Brass Band) is a flamboyant mixture of old parade music heritage spiced with breath of the modern Western brass trends. YTS was established in 1923 and it has traditionally given a rhythm to workers march on Labour Day parades. In addition to this prestigious commission YTS have made several recordings, accompanied visiting soloists and educated huge amount of talented musicians who afterwards moved to play in professional orchestras and other musical occupations.YKSPIHLAJAN REIMA
Recreation- and Sport Association – REIMA established in 1921, is probably best known for its determined and unconditional prosecution among junior football (yes, that’s soccer…). REIMA’s football team has trained several national championships league players as well as other wise distinguished legends of the green. Another notable sub-division in REIMA is REDY, which is floorball team. Especially women floorball team has been fairly successful achieving elevation to national 2nd division in the season 2004-2005.
