Hey Heidi-Rae is a captivating rock band based out of Memphis TN. Since their debut E.P. "Back to the Blackboard (2006), HHR has been winning over the hearts of a rapidly growing fan-base. With a new full length ablum posed for release in the summer of '07, Hey Heidi-Rae has high expectations. As one of the hardest working rock bands in Memphis, HHR is creating a noticeable ripple in Memphis and the mid-south setting the stage for an extended tour throughout the mid to upper mid-west.
Having already played almost 150 shows in the mid-south within the last two years, Hey Heidi-Rae has shared the stage with numerous national acts such as: Say Anything, Daphne Loves Derby, The Junior Varsity, Amber Pacific, The Afters (Columbia Records), Hundred Year Storm (Floodgate Records), and John Rueben (Gottee Records). Add to that a full booking of shows in the summer of 2007 including Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois, and HHR shall prove their worth on the road.
Such dedication to their cause has caught the attention of prominent radio stations such as "93X", "Rock 103", and "94.1 (formerly) The Buzz"- who jump at the chance to promote local talent that is deserving of the airwaves. Dennis and Ric, popular DJs of "Rock 103" say this about Hey Heidi-Rae: "We play their music frequently. They rock, so we play them often!"
Back in happier times, when rock was made to inspire and distract from the noise of life, HHR found themselves stuck in the thick of it. Known for their energetic live show, the band leaves auidences awestruck. While much of rock demands and encourages the use of the rock fist, HHR wants your heart and mind as well. HHR believes in the rallying call of rock. Their on-stage performance will agree with that statement.
People look for a voice and a message of solidarity, and Hey Heidi-Rae's anthemic brand of rock is not afraid to cross boundaries of genre or status quo. HHR understand that life is hard, but unlike other bands of the alt/rock or emo/indie genres, HHR won't leave you hanging without hope. But what they will leave you hanging with are miles upon miles of sing-a-long melodies. A tight rhythm section, driving guitars, along with the natural crescendo and building songs that complement soaring vocals are just part of the equation that gives fuel to the flame of their live act. Feeding off of crowd energy is how HHR survive. The give and take of the crowd and band make certain that HHR has shown up to the rock show, being just one part of the supporting cast. In this way the participants of the show might appear to have nearly as much say-so in the orchestration of the evening as does the band. But while HHR submits to the die-hard committment of their growing fan-base, the command still lies on stage with the band's on-stage antics, passion, and presence.
