So here's where "Jimmer" comes from.
Jim dated Kim in Lincoln Sudbury High School in the mid 70's in Sudbury Massachusetts and David nicknamed them "Jimmer & Kimmer". Well lost in the 70's I may be, the nickname stayed with me. I'm 51 now....Ohhh My GODDDDDD! Pinch me. How did this happen. This just can't be! What am I gonna do? I know.... I'll spin records and make people... (records? did I say that? what's a record?) CD's and make people happy! YES! That's the ticket! It'll Be GOOD WORK... If I can get it.
Ohhh my God, 51. I swear, this must be wrong...
...51?
Speaking of "where Jimmer Comes From... I found this on Ivy's page (see my friends list) and thought I'd go enter my name to see what 'thier' dictionary says my name is/ means. Try it out!

I am also big into "PROG ART" like that of the man I consider it's founder, Mr. Roger Dean! My minds eye was permanantly altered when I first saw his work on Yes's Album covers and so many more. Check out www.rogerdean.com and this montage of his work set to the music of Yes's "Close To The Edge".
I'd be remiss not to mention Mr Peter Max as well! He was my first "drug", B4 I even knew what drugs were, together with The Beatles! WHOA!
Today, this incredible gentleman! Mr. Ed Unitsky! Simply awesome. As long as Ed has been my friend, (Introduced to my by my also influential and highly incredible artist friend "IVY" here on M.S!) I STILL have not finished checking out his expansive page!
Ivy has done amazing work in painting, drawing sculpting and more. Her creative talents go into a very creative line of comic books, origami, and I think she should open a resturant! She is one super creative, problem solving woman! Please see my friends list for both Ivy at http://www.myspace.com/lasgil and click on the banner here for Ed!)
I saw genesis in Montreal on 9.14.07 It was much the same as this, tho I believe this was on the Europian part of the tour.
But first and foremost! THIS (below) is where music in my life officially went from a campfire to a raging BONFIRE! It was 1972 and I heard what is now, still my favorite band, 'YES' for the very first time playing THIS song in a pair of head phones! This Vid is priceless.
Next, just below, are THESE guys! All of them, INCREDIBLE! They are called CIRCA! They are current and former members of 'YES'. Please see their page for more vid's including a couple of YES medleys that are excellent! Thier guitarist Jimmy Haun is a "newcomer" as it would be termed, to the family of YES, (sorry Jimmy! You are magical to me!) but he's incredible!
Tony Kaye, Billy Sherwood, Alan White, Jimmy Haun
Musical influences are from many as I list below. Music like my friend Simon from Sonanaut creates! He was so awesome to allow me to use music from his new CD, "Sinking Upwards" on my page! Pease visit his My Space page by clicking the "Sonanaut" image in my friends list and check out his refreshing new music! I personally think it's Great! Thank You Simon!
...Now a short story...
Interesting influence:
This Dude who DJ'd a wedding on Clearwater Beach in Florida. A bunch of us had a friggin blast and danced and our glasses fell off and got stepped on and we were all sweaty an stuff? At the time I was a drummer in a blues band struggling to make $25 bucks for 10 hours worth of work. So I asked this guy if it was a hassle to play recor.....ahhh CD's for a party? He said are you kidding me? I'm getting $700.00 for this! Well the rest is history. (I am undercutting this guy to this day at $450 for a four hour wedding. That price gets you a total "bring the night club to your guests" experience!)
He just had 2 little speakers... NOT ME! I HAVE A KILLER SOUND & LIGHT SYSTEM TO DIE FOR! And I have FOG! And LASERS! EVEN a mirror ball.... Whoopie, eh? (I spent a month or so in Montreal in 06) Eh? I simply won't tolerate second best! Just ask!
My real influences, as mentioned on the other side of this page are Jon Anderson, Chris Squire and their Band YES! 23 Yesshows since 1972, including, again in Montreal, the Jon Anderson solo gig I saw on 3.22.08!
With the recent Steve Howe solo show, 9-27-08, in a tiny collage theater, that looked as if there were maybe 400 people there, that (kind of) brings the YesShowS to 24, Wow...
Plus all the influential people associated with YES. Peter Banks, "THE" one and only, Bill Bruford!!!! Pat Moraz, Billy Sherwood and ALL the Yes alumni. And as mentioned, Groups like Genesis! And ALL those connected to them. Like Anthony Phillips, Steve Hackett and Peter Gabriel. (When I saw Genesis again in Sept 07 in Montreal, I also had tic's for Boston and missed that show!:-( These bands and thier artistsnd so many more are why I love drumming and singing (especially Jon's Anderson's music!) The resulting love of music (and NOT being in a band) led my to the DJ work. Ultimately I wish I was drumming in an E.L.P.-ish, GenesYes kind of group! If anyone can hook me up, Write me PLEASE!
I have to mention too, their album cover artists, again, Rodger Dean and Kim Poor, even artist groups sush as Hypnosis, who did so many album covers. Soooo Much incredible talent way too vast to cover here.
It all starts way back when, when a little Astronaut wannabe named Jim heard and saw THE BEATLES on Ed Sullivan! I wanted to be a drummer from that point forward!
THANK YOU RINGO! YOU (and the boys!) CHANGED THE ENTIRE COURSE OF MY LIFE!
So now I love DJ-ing, because I get to listen to so much great music! (well the labor part is tough, but still, it's a great gig!)
Speaking of influences,
Just below here, check out Peter Gabriel and Genesis in this old clip! Seems like yesterday! Steve Hackett, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford in fine form! I haven't found much info on it, but it's just sooo cool! Please read on. It's my hope you have enjoyed something new and something old!
Sounds Like: Anyone you want me to sound like. And I really mean "JUST LIKE" them. Maybe even better! Cuz I might even have a better sound system than them, well ok, I MIGHT not. So what! You'll be havin too much of a good time, so you won't even realise it's not really them! HA! Dat's whut A'm Talkin Bout...
Record Label: Maybe Someday
