The Failure I'm Trying To Avoid

About Me

I've been doing these jams since I was 18. I sit around at home a lot watching TV shows. Sometimes I write songs and sometimes I cover songs. Everything normally gets one tracked with a cheap computer mic and recorded with software which is more advanced than what I need. If I can be bothered I may dust my eight track and record some noise.
I hope you enjoy my ramblings.
"...refreshing to hear something so simple and interesting. Very naked and soulful." - A lie told by my friend Steven Carr.
"...Can I recommend "Fading Stars In Autumn" Romford talent, I love it!" - Someone on a google search from when I went under the name of Fading Stars In Autumn.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: No dice
Band Members: Russ - Guitar/Singing/Ukulele/Harmonium/Glockenspeil/Other Stuff that trips out
Influences: I get influenced by a lot of things: books, pictures, TV shows, movies, popular culture, family, friends, work, fear, failure, hope, regret, celebrities, infactuations, the first sip of whiskey and the last taste of vomit, the hum of my computer fan at 1am, the ache of my eyes at 5am, the heat of my breath at night, the arguing from the neighbours below me, Larry David, comics, dreams & nightmares, the sound of the traffic, the heat of summer and the chill of winter, Mulder’ slamdowns, the beat in a club and the intoxication in my stomach, late nights and early mornings, the 20’s blues, 1930’s
Here’s a small list of music I like: Beach Boys, Elliott Smith, Neutral Milk Hotel, Kevin Devine, Built To Spill, Life Without Buildings, Smog, Will Oldham, Geoff Farina, Jason Molina, Sean Watkins, Neil Young, Bob Nanna, The Cardigans, Tim Kasher, Ben Gibbard, Teenage Fan Club, Mock Orange, Chris Thile, Inspection 12, Chet Baker, System And Station, Eisley, Simon And Garfunkel, Couterfit, Miles Davis, Nickel Creek, Guster
The list is endless, but I don’t have the talent to sound like these guys.
Sounds Like: lower calibre of any other acoustic tripe out there; pop songs sang slow
Type of Label: None

Fading Stars in Autumn is no more.

The day has finally come and I feel it's time to change my pseudonym. I have had the name, Fading Stars In Autumn, since I was 17/18 and over the years I have outgrown it. It's not really me anymore ...
