About Me
Daniel Ray was born and raised in a small town called Moriah. (Located in Upstate New York's Adirondack Mountains) He grew up watching his father, Gary Sadowski, play in numerous rock & country bands. With this strong musical influence in his everyday life, Daniel grew up wanting to be a musician. With lots of support and encouragement from his family, along with instruction from his father, Daniel Ray, at age 7, started playing the guitar. By age 9, Daniel Ray joined his first band. And although cover tunes were great, after a couple years of playing, Daniel really wanted to make his own music. He wrote his first song at age 11 and has been steadily writing and recording his original material ever since. Over the next few years, Daniel Ray was in & out of several bands, but stayed very focused on his song writing. And at the age of 16, Daniel wrote and produced a song titled "Desire".
Within the next six months "Desire" made its way into the hands of Marino Amoruso, an award winning writer/producer, who then took the song to record producer Michael Zager. Zager had worked with major artists such as Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross and Willy Nelson. In 1994, Daniel recorded an album under Amoruso and his Independent Label, NFE/FLY Records. The first single "You Win Again" held at ..1 for eight weeks on the CMC National Top Independent Artists Chart, climbed to ..2 on the Cashbox Top 100 Country Singles Chart, and was ..34 on the CMC National Music Chart. Daniel Ray was featured in many nationally distributed magazines, including Performance, Country Weekly and Cashbox. His first single "You Win Again" was heard nation wide over country music radio. Daniel Ray was signed on with Buddy Lee Attractions Booking Agency and spent some time performing as the opening act for major artists, such as Neal McCoy, Mark Chesnutt, and Daryle Singletary...
Just before the second single was to be released, NFE/FLY Records went under and so did Daniel Ray's project. Daniel has continued to write, record, and perform, gaining valuable experience and making as many important contacts as possible. Currently, Danny Ray has been actively pursuing a major label deal through several "key" Nashville based contacts. Most recently, Danny Ray performed a showcase, of his original material, for some of the industries' top record executives in Nashville, TN. That showcase sparked the interests of several major label A & R reps.
Daniel Ray hopes to land a deal with a great label that will allow him to get his music out to millions of country music fans worldwide!
