About Me

May 27th, 2007 - Finally I found my way to MySpace as well!
Hello to YOU and thanx for visiting my profile. Let me introduce myself...

WHO AM I? My name is ELLEN, to family/friends also known as FLYGIRL since I'm flying around the globe the last couple of years, mainly for work and occasionally for holidays. I'm 27 years old, originating from the southern part of The Netherlands. I'm hardly ever 'at home' which then is in Amstelveen/Limburg. Most of my family/friends still live in the southern province, so when I can, I love to be there to catch up on things.
I'm just a simple person, someone who doesn't really ask for much but the simple things in life. Because of my work I travel a lot, but I always try to make time 4 those people who are worthy of it in my opinion! I never ask for anything more than what I'm willing to give myself. There's a few great people in my life who I hold close to my heart and who inspire me to be a better person everyday. They make life interesting, make me look forward to things and keep me smiling. I've been through some rough years and am finding myself again.. So far, so good! I'm a sincere person, intelligent and interested in other countries/ people/ cultures, but I do need to know you better before I open up and let you see more of myself. Friendship needs to grow on me!
AS FOR MY WORK... I'm working in tourism, mainly the airline business as an employee of the IATA Organization, based in Geneva/Switzerland. IATA represents some 250 airlines comprising 94% of the international scheduled air traffic. The organization also represents, leads and serves the airline industry in general. My job is either in Geneva at the Head Office or on locations abroad. I am dealing with airline regulations, ticketing procedures and the complicated tariffication system. Furthermore I take part in the Workgroup Tariff Conference, this means I'm having a lot of meetings with airlines and people representing them in the Workgroup as we're trying to establish new rules and regulations and simplify the worldwide tariffication system used in the airlines industry. Also I'm flying for Emirates Airlines based in the United Arab Emirates as a purser/flight attendant on Boeing 777. Europe/Middle East is my designated work area although sometimes flights take me elsewhere around the globe. Another thing I'm doing is keeping in contact with BCAG [Boeing Commercial Airplane Group] in the US. Already did some projects for them and will be in Seattle for a while again this year. I sincerely love my work and am very happy to be given these opportunities to find out what it's all about. It takes up a lot of my time but I feel the need to do it now... you never know what you've missed out on if you hadn't done a certain thing at a given time, so I'm just diving in and fly off!
WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE PLACES I LIKE TO VISIT... Before I started to fly I basically spend weekends/holidays in Europe...
I fear heights so it was pretty much crazy I managed to start enjoying the flying for what it is when being 'up-in-the-clouds'. I survived some rough flights and even one which included the explosion of an engine followed by an emergency landing with one engine only. This flight happened just when I started to fly...
I love going back to the same places and live up the memories. From time to time I'm able to explore new places as well. Some of the best trips were those where I didn't know what to expect, except from having read a few travel guides. For example places like the NWFP of Pakistan [Saidu Sharif], Oman and Zambia.
Of course I've seen beautiful places, but still there's loads more I want
to visit. Please check my TRAVEL MAP on the profile to find out more!
DID YOU KNOW THAT... - my list of favourite places includes beauties like Seattle area,
Canary Islands, Knokke [Belgium], Roma [Italy], Kuwait and
Peshawar/Saidu Sharif [Pakistan]?
- I love Architecture, Interior Design and just wandering around places
to see what I come across?
- the furthest south I've been to (so far) is Sao Paulo [Brazil]?
- the furthest north I've been to (so far) is Iqaluit [Baffin Island/Canada]?
If you'd like to know even more facts about me then
there's a BLOG I made about it which you can read!

I'd like to meet:

MY SPACE AND HOW I SEE IT...
The reason why I joined MySpace is basically to let DJ's/Producers know what I think of them and show my appreciation/gratitude for their music throughout the years! I got the impression they also value opinions from their listeners/fans and it seems I'm right (for the most part). I'm not here to get in touch with vague so called 'friends', please don't add me if you want to have like a million of 'friends', then I'm really not interested! It would be nice to know if there's people around with the same interests as me and with the same love for the music, especially the uplifting, emotional, euphoric & epic kind of trance!
It's not that difficult to get my attention, but it takes a lot more than good looks or a few nice words to make an impression on me! Shallow people don't interest me at all! If you're a complicated person, that's fine by me, I see it as a challenge to find out about you. I love it when people show and share their thoughts/ feelings/ emotions. I enjoy being around intelligent and open-minded people with sincere interest in other human beings. I hugely admire people who are creative (producers!) and people who are not afraid to be themselves. As for myself, I'm a simple person I believe, complicated at times (but who isn't?!). I just appreciate honesty, and of course it would be fantastic when you can relate to (trance) music in the way that I do! I cannot live without it, I feel it, I breathe it... it's all about the feelings/emotions when listening.. hard to describe in words, but then again, that's not always necessary! Thanx 2 all the musicians
out there in the world for bringing the beats to me, I value you heaps!
Feel free to send me a message/comment if you have any questions or would like to know more, I'll do my best to reply, whenever possible that is! Thanx 4 stopping by... very kind of you! Take care, see you around!
Best wishes from ~ELLEN~
