About Me

Ryan Bordihn grew up in Newmarket, Ontario and had a guitar in his hands before he could put a sentence together. As his talent grew, his tastes for various styles grew. His infatuation with new music has brought him to explore punk, jazz, all types of rock, heavy metal, ska, and especially blues. In his second year of high school he auditioned for a jazz ensemble despite his lack of experience playing jazz. Ryan quickly developed a strong confidence in jazz and stood out in his ability to generate creative ear catching solos. A year later Ryan formed Providence, a group of local musicians that experimented with fusing jazz and blues into modern rock. On any given day you might have found Ryan slaving over his guitar and a piece of paper in his basement putting value not only to good musical taste, but also to the passion and meaning of the lyrics behind it. Although other musicians in Providence did not pursue a career in music, being without a drummer or a bassist has not slowed Ryan’s innate nature to write songs with an ability to envision the intricacies of an entire band. It doesn’t take long to hear the influences of John Mayer and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Ryan’s music, yet he brings his own mixture of blazing riffs, and rhythmic melodies along with his contemporary influences. Keep your ears open for his newest album release Something Bigger.
