About Me

I'm just trying to find the right balance between work and play. I want to make money by being creative. The air in Austin is crisp.

My Interests

Loving Austin, making my friends laugh. Eating good food at Uchi or Wink. I like making jewelry, traveling, painting, talking to strangers, squeezing small, cute animals. Basically I like rainbows and puppies, okay I said it.

I'd like to meet:

The Dalai Lama, Werner Herzog, Tom Waits, Brian Green, Jeff Buckley, Daryl Hanna, PJ Harvey and my neighbors two houses on either side of me.
You Are 40% Evil
A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well.
In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil. How Evil Are You?

Music:

I've been downloading torrents on my little MacBook. I look for fun dance pop. This is what I liked two years ago when I first wrote this: Robocop Klaus, Of Montreal, Arcade Fire, The Go! Team, Aceyalone, Calexico, Arctic Monkeys, The Unicorns, Voxtrot, poo poo pee pee pants, Architecture in Helsinki, Stereo Total, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Imperial Teen, John Fahey, Riverboat Gamblers, The Coral, Evil Nine, Gorillaz, The Jungle Brothers, MF Doom, Neutral Milk Hotel, ODB, Les Savy Fav, T-Bone Burnett, Le Tigre, Ween, Z-trip, Belle & Sebastian and my favorite classics are Tom Waits, Pixies, Talking Heads, Guided By Voices, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Blondie, The Cars, Brian Eno, Fela Kuti. I also like old timey Country Swing.

Movies:

Alamo Drafthouse is the gem of the city. I like Art Haus Films. Classics I like include Crimes and Misdemeanors, Almost any Woody Allen film, Jim Jarmusch Films. I really liked Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring. The Squid and the Whale was also really good. I like going to The Alamo Drafthouse. I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey there and it was stupendous.

Television:

"I quit watching television when I was six years old because it was so boring and stupid." TLC, Discovery Health Channel, Mun2

Books:

I like trashy memoirist like David Sedaris and Augustus Bourroughs. I also give away books when I'm done reading them. The Reader, The Time Traveler's Wife, Sophie's Choice, Charlotte's Web. I have a subscription to the magazine called The Week. It's the best of national and international media. That's been keeping me busy. I read music web sites.

Heroes:

Rosa Parks. Kids that grow up in the ghetto, but still do well for themselves in life. People who are selfless.
