"So what is there to do in East Bethany, NY? A town in the rural wilderness between Buffalo and Rochester, NY? A town so small it barley shows up on the map. How about play and create fantastic Rock-n-Roll. That’s what snakes have done.
SNAKES have gone through the scrapbook of rock history to create a collage of fresh untamed original music. These young men are a trio that have the ability and talent to sound like a quintet. Although they have only been playing as a trio for about a year, sounds like they turned that year into a decade. SNAKES have a sound that will hold your attention, make you dance and blow your mind. SNAKES mix well contrived originals with quality cover songs. In the songs they write you can understand the words, which have a quality that has been missing for years. A fun loving surf rock inspired sound. Quiet when they want to be and louder than thunder when they kick in.
So who are SNAKES? Tom Avery followed his father’s footsteps in playing guitar; he plays with a very distinct hook-laden style at times with a surf feel and at others reminiscent of psychedelic era finger picking. Having been experienced singing in a barbershop group with his father since he was young, Tom also sings. Nate Radomski got a bass for Christmas in the 7th grade and must have been playing plenty. Nate can be layed back and supple in the long hall, or as wild and melodic as Geddy Lee When needed. Overall in the trio he never fails to hold the band together. Nate also brings his distinctive vocals into the mix. Ian McCutcheon has always had a penchant for tapping, pots and pans, furniture, car seats, whatever. His parents must have found it easier just to buy him a drum set when he was nine, and he has played every day. His drumming can be as complex as Buddy Rich to as simple yet steady as Tommy Ramone. Ian, through continuous practice joined the ranks of Levon Helm from The Band and Don Henley to be one of the very few drummers to be able to sing and play at the same time. SNAKES love to jam and play live more than anything in this world and do so well, which is self evident by the videos on their page. SNAKES would and should play in a town near you.
East Bethany, NY? Well it doesn’t matter where they came from; what matters is where their going and that’s straight to the top."
