Megan Jacobs is a musical powerhouse. A singer-songwriter and a keyboard player who writes all her own music and lyrics, she is the ultimate creative entertainer. Megan has performed across America and on the Web, performing to wildly enthusiastic crowds. A natural onstage, Megan Jacobs has packed such West Coast hotspots as The Roxy, The Mint, Temple Bar and Hotel Cafe. She’s also soloed at famed NY venues such as The Living Room and SOB's. In 2005, Megan was chosen to be a featured artist on MySpace. This placement led to tremendous exposure, giving her over 83,000 new hits and thousands of adds. In every query she was asked when she’d have an album and where they could get one. Megan’s been featured in music festivals such as the Abbot Kinney Street Festival in Venice, North Beach Jazz Festival in San Francisco, Joshua Tree Music Festival and New Orleans at Night (Jazz Fest) opening for jazz great, Henry Butler. All the while Megan has been featured on famed LA radio stations KPFK and KXLU as well as numerous college radio stations.Born in Los Angeles, Megan's been playing piano since the age of 5. She dabbled in choir and jazz band but her career as a songwriter officially began in her early twenties. After graduating from UC Berkeley she began playing coffee shops and clubs around Southern California. At twenty-three she found herself opening, running, and buying talent for Santa Monica's now internationally known Temple Bar. Being exposed to, and performing with, such diverse musical talents helped shape her musical style. In the thick of a scene that was re-claiming LA as edgy, Megan's talent was recognized by Andre Cymone of Prince and the Revolution. He produced her demo in his downtown studio under the band name OLD SOL. That next year she was voted one of Music Connections top unsigned artists of 2001.While getting her stars and stripes as a solo artist, Megan Jacobs gained further experience playing keys and singing backup vocals for Atlantic Record's The Peak Show in 2003-2004. At that time, Megan lived in one of LA's greatest bohemian 'hoods, Echo Park. Running with a crew of poets, songwriters, rappers and street artists, Megan found herself immersed in LA's dynamic underground. Megan called it her "Echo Park Art Tribe." Frequent performances ran the gamut from intimate eastside bookstores to warehouse loft parties. While at home on the world stage, Megan Jacobs is truly a woman of Los Angeles: equally Echo Park, Topanga Canyon, and Hollywood. Megan currently works as the Talent Buyer for the legendary Roxy Theatre in Hollywood by day and moonlights as a songwriter at night. Now, at last, Megan has something to offer her MySpace and live-venue fans. Her forthcoming album was recorded in the home studio of music mogul, Lou Adler. Adler, known for his work with the Mamas and the Papas, Carole King & Carly Simon, is a musical legend. Though she’s recorded demos previously, Prosperity is Megan's first full-length record. Prosperity is produced by Damon Aaron. In addition to his brilliant singer-songwriter talents, Damon Aaron used to play in the band Telephone Tel Aviv. Together Megan and Damon create sensational music. With this record, Megan wants to perform and inspire people both nationally and internationally, play festivals, romance the radio, infuse TV and movies. She knows that her lyrics and melodies have the potential to reach and inspire hearts and minds worldwide.MUSICIANS appearing on PROSPERITY Michael Jerome Moore, Tom Freund, David Ralicke , Matt DeMerrit , Fanny FranklinEngineered by Bob Tucker ( India Arie,The Temptations).
