About Me

I figued I should write about something new...but unfortunately it will be about something old. Hopefully it will be new to some of you. The group is African Head Charge. They were around since the early 80s, a great mix of jamaicans and punk/avant garde musicans from london and the master who recorded and mixed it, Adrian Sherwood. A combination of chants, electronics, some of the craziest bass playing I've heard, hand drums, synths, samples , and just about anything else you could think of. This music has been a constant inspiration to me over the years. Never disappointing me, and always making me think. It's like an exercise in originality. The group of the first 5 records they released keeps me juiced to the point of buying their records and talking my friends into buying them from me. I would give them away if I could but I am not wealthy you see. This stuff would be a great new expierience for anyone interested in dub music, Brian Eno's less rock experiments, and avant garde fans, I think it would also be interesting for world music fans and rockers with an open mind too. Unfortunately they are quite difficult to come by. Some are available on CD (if they are not out of print) Here are some titles to check out. Let me know what you think. !My Life in a Hole in the Ground! !Environmental Studies! !Drastic season! !Off the Beaten Track! !Songs of Praise! This is a DeeJay take over.........REMOVE YA!
