Anything that is played by a musical prodigy makes me happy. I've haven't run across much in the hip-hop genre that sounds 'prodigious', but I'm open for it if it ever comes along. I just like listening to people that sound like they do nothing but work on mastering their instrument. Like me. (just kidding) I think you can tell when you're hearing someone that has a natural musical connection, and can actually connect their instrument with their soul. It's very personal and impossible to fake, in my estimation.=========================== Of course, SHOOBY TAYLOR, then there's THE BEATLES, KEITH GREEN, BING CROSBY, VOLZ-ERA PETRA, RESSURECTION BAND, VAN HALEN, LED ZEPPLIN, STEVE VAI, ERIC JOHNSON, CURDS & WHEY, JEFF KASTNER, EARLY DOKKEN, EXTREME, KINGS X, JOHNNY HILAND, TIES THAT BIND, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DALLAS HOLM, THE CARPENTERS, THE COMMODORES, JOHN SYKES, GREG X VOLZ, JERUSALEM, BRIAN SETZER, GLENN KAISER, TY TABOR, MIKE SCHMITZ, SRV, STRYPER, DOYLE DYKES, ALAN PARSONS PROJECT, LOUIS PRIMA, ...this could go on forever...
Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars (all), Dumb & Dumber, Napoleon Dynamite, Spinal Tap, That Thing You Do, Kung Pow - Enter the Fist, Shaolin Soccer, Unbeatable Dragon, Face Off, The Incredibles, The Matrix (only the 1st one), Rat Race, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Tron!
American Idol or NFL... that's about all I would watch. Otherwise, I'd rather be playing my guitar! (or anything else)
