About Me

***My Life Path Number is 3***Your purpose in life is to express your unique self. You are a creative and artistic person with an interesting view on life. Witty and outgoing, you enjoy sharing your crazy ideas with anyone who will listen. A total social butterfly, you're the life of any party. In love, you inspire and enchant your partner. You are often an object of fantasy and desire. While you are very talented, you sometimes lack the ambition to put your talents in play. And while your wit carries you a long way, you occasionally use it to mask your true feelings. Your natural abilities can bring you all the success in the world ... if you let themWhat Is Your Life Path Number? http://www.blogthings.com/whatisyourlifepathnumberquiz/ Anyone who knows me know this to be all to true.Right now I have two things driving me, my lovely daughter Savannah and getting through school. I can't even remember how many times I've attempted it. I keep going back and taking all sorts of interesting classes but really getting no where. I just like to learn. That and I love the social aspect of college, the exchange of ideas. My old fashioned views don't go over so well at times but we all have our opinions, mine just happen to be right;) I have been divorced for 4 years and only dated the two. I needed some time to heal I guess. I've made some good friends and met a lot of interesting people. I enjoy it, but I liked being a wife too. I took it very seriously and I have quite a 1950's mentality when it comes to gender roles. Lately there is a lot of confusion among the sexes about what our roles should be and how we are supposed to treat each other. I prefer the wisdom of tradition. I miss the pedastal on which we were so adoringly placed. I have never seen the sexes as equal. We are different by design. I believe women need men to be our security and our protectors and men need women to nuture them, to give them a safe haven from the world. It's how we were meant to fit. The universal balance. And let me tell you, man are we all out of balance. I miss real men, the ones that carry pocket knives, who will hold the door for me, carry my packages, put air in my tires, not because I am incapable, which, of course, I am not, but because this is how he shows he cares for me. “ I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naive or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman. ” Anais Nin

My Interests

Gardening, canning, cooking, wine making, Monroe County Fair, embroidery, any sort of domestic art seems to interest me now that I live in such a country atmosphere. I love to learn about anything so I take classes occassionaly at the community college here and I have so much fun. After I got divorced I took a class in Marriage and Family, learned a lot, might have served me a bit better before I got married but well, live and learn right. I love to go to events in Detroit, thank god I have my sister JoJo and her husband Matt there to get me out once and a while. I really enjoy working on fashion and art shows with them, being downtown for anything really, concerts, festivals whatever.I like to be outside, camping, minor league hiking, I've been fortunate to be a guest at Finn Camp, laying in the hammock, sitting by the lake, is there anything better? It's like being at our cottage upnorth without the 4 hour drive. honestly I could find myself interested in just about anything at any given time. As long as it's fun and nobody is getting hurt, I'm game.

I'd like to meet:

Check out this video: morticia addams - human beinz

I want someone that makes me feel like dancing!!!!! My worst nightmare is having to choose between Johnny Depp and Dave Matthews. I mean, seriously, what would you do?Really, I just love meeting people. I find everyone interesting. Myspace is just a way for me to stay connected with friends and family and reconnect with friends from the past. If I happen to make some new friends along the way, great."Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born. " Anais Nin

Classic Rock: Led Zepplin, Van Halen(roth, not hagar), Queen just rocks , Guns & Roses, Velvet Revolver, Ozzy, Buckcherry. I love disco. classical(bethoven over mozart), 80's alternative: Peter Murphy, The The, Sister's of Mercy, The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Bolshoi, dance, lounge, not a fan of country but I have to admit if it's playing somewhere my toe will eventually give in and start tapping and I do look oddly fantastic in a cowboy hat.(mine is pink) Miss my favorite Detroit 90's bands, Charm Farm, Noc Barrage, Majesty Crush, Goober and the Peas, Vudu Hippies.... you know who you all are. The Killers, and OAR are new favorites.

Anchorman, Adam Sandler movies, Strange Days, GO, Xanadu, Anything Johnny Depp graces us with. Anniversary Party, thanks JoJo. Sid & Nancy, Dogs in Space, True Romance, Saturday Night Fever, Henry & June. I really like Deborah Forman movies, Valley Girl, My Chauffeur, April Fool's Day, even her adorable cameo in Real Genius. 9 1/2 weeks is an all time favorite but the book is better. There are a few Disney flicks I can't live without, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty and Mary Poppins.

Television:

I don't have cable and I have no local channels either. When I did I loved Nip/Tuck. I was completely addicted to Days of Our Lives for a long time. (Any updates would be welcomed) Reruns of Seinfeld and Friends

Books:

"A room without books is like a body without a soul." -Cicero I collect books and do have them in every room of my home. I think I'm close to 1000 by now. Everything from Anne Rice 1st editions, ("Memnoch the Devil" is so worth the read, especially if you have a Christian background) to childrens books by Charlotte Zolotow, "The White Marble" is my favorite. The Story of O, 9 1/2 weeks and Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy are great when you need a little porn. Elizabeth Berg writes beautiful novels. I carry a totebag of field guides whenever I travel. My collection is mostly nonfiction. My favorite book right now is "The Book of Useless Information" it's put out by the Society for Useless Information. I like books that are arranged to be read in bits as my time rarely allows for a long read these days.

Heroes:

My parents, they've set the bar pretty high. They just totally rock. They are funny, generous, loving, accepting, forgiving and compassionate and totally in love with each other. My gorgeous sister JoJo for being a better me than I ever could have been, for never settling for less than she deserves and for being my teacher now using everything I taught her. She's freakin' awesome.
