About Me

(CD'S CAN BE PERSONALIZED WITH NAMES & SPECIAL MESSAGES)
Dwayne Britton, attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, on the John Raitt Musical Theatre Scholarship. After graduating, Dwayne became The Walt Disney Company’s first “Young Hercules,” singing as the cartooned role (and himself) at The Disneyland Resort and in special events in the US and Canada.
Dwayne originated the role of “Jason” in workshop performances of Bare: A Pop Opera, and “Richard” in a limited national tour of The Christmas Box, based upon the best-selling Hallmark classic. He has performed his one-man cabaret at The Jazz Bakery and at MBAR in Los Angeles, at the Duplex in New York City, and has performed internationally in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and all over the Mediterranean, Baltic and Caribbean for Royal Caribbean International and Princess Cruises as a guest vocalist.
Dwayne is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA), and The American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA). He has studied with Donna McKechnie, Calvin Remsberg and John Raitt and has recently released his first CD, a nostalgic collection of acoustic covers, to critical acclaim on the LML Music label.

"...This album is too good to be simply played in the background..."
- Mark Ritchie, THE STAGE (UK)
“...An artist sure to become one of [LML Music’s] brightest shining stars.“
- LAStageScene.com
"Dwayne Britton's debut CD is terrific. His vocals are expressive, emotional and beautifully sung. He has put together a marvelous collection of songs with intimate, elegant arrangements and I am delighted that his touching rendition of "Go The Distance" is among them."
- David Zippel (Tony Award Winning/Academy Award Nominated lyricist of “City of Angels,” “The Goodbye Girl,” “The Woman In White,” and Disney’s “Hercules” & “Mulan”)
"Please thank Mr. Britton for me for his excellent rendition of "More Than This..."
- Stephen Schwartz (Academy Award Winning Composer of “Wicked,” “Godspell,” “Pippin,” DreamWorks’ “The Prince of Egypt” and Disney’s "Enchanted," “Pocahontas” & “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”)
"* * * (out of four stars)"
- Frontiers Magazine
“We were honored to have “Run Away With Me” included on Dwayne Britton’s debut album. . . Mr. Britton’s intimate, heartfelt performances are young and fresh, and imbued with his own sense of style and personality. We can’t wait to hear what comes next.”
- Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk (“The Unauthorized Biography of Samantha Brown”)
"...It’s really just this simple: when Dwayne Britton opens his mouth to sing, he also opens up his heart. . . .Dwayne’s focused, intent, nuanced interpretations of lyrics reveal[ed] a thoughtful, convincing actor who can find the intimate cabaret communication quotient in a pop song. . . songs like “Why” (wow!) and “Pure Imagination” (his sweetly unspoiled sense of awe could make you believe in Santa Claus — or even true love). The mix: down-to-earth personality and heavenly voice: ideal!"
- Cabaret Scenes
"Dwayne Britton's self-titled debut is a wonderful collection . . . expressive and heartfelt delivery on each song."
- Scott Alan ("Piece")
"Britton exudes like-ability. . ."
- The Press Enterprise
“Britton’s delivery is precise and powerful, as best exemplified in his winning rendition of Tori Amos’ “Baker Baker.”
- OUT.com
"Dwayne Britton employs his smooth voice on a host of standards, and a few lesser-known choices, ultimately creating a memoir in song. . . A solid debut."
- New England Blade

“Dwayne's interpretations come out as communicative rather than navel-gazing self-involvement...He sounds equally convincing on songs that hark back to simple child-friendly innocence and hope... to the more complex, like the very grown-up "Baker Baker" by Tori Amos...Sincerity is the key word here all around, but it isn't insincere sincerity that feels like artificial sweetener...an intimate introspection... an impressive first album.”
