KFM (real name Niko, born in 1989) is a finnish producer living in Turku, Finland. As a-more-producer-than-a-dj, KFM..s known about his experimental style of producing music. He produces varying styles of music, still keeping the focus on house/electro/chill/breakbeat.
He started producing music at junior highschool, about 16 years old. With a considerably wide taste of music he did house tracks and a couple of "crappy"(by his words) hc-house tracks knowing almost nothing about producing. He always listened to music and had a interest towards electronic music.
"I remember when I was like 8 years old and saw the chemical brothers "hey boy hey girl" music video. I was nothing but goosebumbs."
Pretty soon after the house experiment he did some chill-house tracks like "21" and “Summer Synthâ€. Those sound a lot the style of KFM today.
After that there came “a maniac period†trying experimental stuff like trance, wicked electro etc.
"My computer is full of projects I never got to the end. Something that nobody would like to hear voluntarily."
Nowadays he has been focusing on house-synth-epic sound (depends on the mood). If you listen french producers like Lifelike or Fred Falke you know what KFM’s heading for. You can hear influences from the whole french-house scene in KFMs.. music with, of course, his own twist in it. Pretty much looping, warped rythms and synths with 80..s touch.
"Still, I'm also trying to get the groove on and making some more dancable, more club-friendly music. But still I can't do anything for that fact that I like producing chill jamming music. So future will show what I'm making. Music-making is a progression. Some day you'll be good, or not:D"
