Flying in the face of yet another wave of radio friendly, NME approved, clean-cut nu-rave-pop-punk-emo-skunk-rock, Blue Grotto aims to release music for which indie-ness is something more than a marketing ploy. Non-disposable indie music, in other words. Stuff that you'll listen to in twenty years and still feel the joys and the horror. Stuff which understands the joys and the horror.
It is in this spirit that we're releasing our first split single - Five Minute Zeitgeist (Alexandria Quartet) / PlayaHater (Alpha Males) / A Train Called Patience (Mark Knight) / X Is For Your Eyes (Tigernaut) - on June 28th, and sending these four bands off on the road to spread the gospel.
We want the fret buzz off our bands' guitars to reverberate throughout the hypostasis. We want Martians' stomachs turning at the sound of their bass drums. We want their poems audible even in the darkest depths of Wales.
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
* Three bands, about all of whom you'll be excitedly boasting "XXXX played here" in not very long at all
* The best End-of-World Party since The Pontius Pilate Experience played the 9th Circle. With DJs to last all night, if your licence and inclination tends that way. And live performance poetry. And witch-burnings.#
* An abundance of flyers, badges and miscellaneous other promo stuff. On us. To get people interested.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
* A Room With A View (of a stage). Ideally with a PA, and still more ideally with a drum mic or two. The rest - drums, amps, etc - are in the back of the GrottoBus.
* A little help distributing promo materials. The wonderful folk at Big Squid distribution have kindly offered to assist with flyer distribution in a fair few larger towns, but we would still need your help to get the word out. Local press, club nights, etc. You know your town better than us.
* Transport costs (not more than 80 quid, and pretty good for 3 bands, really). Ideally, we'd like the bands to be playing gigs with no entry fee - means more people come and see them, and hopefully down a few more pints, which is good for pubs and venues worldwide - but that side of things is totally up to you guys.
Get in touch with our handlers through this space, and we will burn one down. We'd love to play with local oddballs, errant geniuses and visionary musicians. You're bound to know a couple. Let us know how much music you need from us, and we'll Fill Space, also Time at your venue.
Mad Love from all at Blue Grotto.
