Having been surrounded by musicians her entire life, Katy Sharp was inspired at an early age. She started playing the piano at age six, clarinet and drums at age eleven, guitar at age twelve...and has been writing and singing for as long as she can remember. Her eclectic taste in music shines through in her own compositions. Her influences include everyone from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Common to Rage Against the Machine to Lauryn Hill to Mark Farina. Recently, she has learned to produce music. Katy was blessed with a group of individuals who found their way into her heart within the last year. Roger Carpenter is one of these amazingly talented and inspiring people. He has taken Katy under his artistic wing and really taught her a thing...or ten. Nikki CamCam has to be given credit, because he is the one who REALLY planted the seed and an enormous amount of support and encouragement. Sir Mel Hammond was the one to give Katy her first "Reason" lesson.
