Future Colonies

Future Colonies first started playing music with 'highschool hygiene' about 8 years ago. As his band left for Philly and New York, he started Future Colonies (then titled 'hello peoda'). He acquired a drum machine, keyboards & a bass guitar for his first solo album, slothfully titled "first album", which was released in the fall of 2002. Around graduation of '03 he released his 2nd album title "5 second feel good instrumentals", which contained 21 instrumental tracks because they were recorded in a relatively short time frame. "5 second feel goods" was made for soundtrack music. 5 of the 21 songs were used in student films at conestoga valley high school throughout that year. College brought some new difficultys to Future Colonies. Stuck in a dorm and no longer able to record music he felt trapped and left after the first semester to return home and record a series of improvised acoustic songs on his his release, 'argue all is perfection'. At the end of '04 Future Colonies had grown tired of the Northeast and headed to New Orleans to record his fifth album, "the migration". While down there he played with many musicians including The Zoo, Ben Goldman and the lovely vocal cords of Kate and Marley. Upon his return to Lancaster in late '05 to start nursing clinicals he put together "The Hibernation", a low-fi response to the big corporate success of "The Migration." Currently FC is attending UPMC school of nursing in Pittsburgh. Working on the first ever Future Colonies hip hop album featuring MC's Dramadary, Matic and Pa titled, "Pittsburgh in the Winter". FC is also working his first novel about a birding trip he took with the continent's 2006 #1 birders, Justin and Devin Bosler. The book is called "North America" and will come with an album of instrumental music to be listened to while reading along. As for the future of Future Colonies, he plans to travel back out west this summer to work on a new album with Bellingham based artist, "Trees, in foliage".
