Difference between you and a Firefighter.Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes.My tone goes off at 2 in the morning and im on my way to a wreck with entrapment. __________________________You take a warm shower to help you wake up.I've been awake for three days working at four different stations running calls all day and night and doesn't get to shower. __________________________You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.I get burned or trapt inside, or while cutting someone out of a car something flys off the car and injures me, or car explodes, I get called to a medical call where someone was shot and I wonder if that person still around?? Is he going to shoot me?? __________________________You meet up with your friends at the camp and get drunk!I respond to the unconsious people and the grass fire you started. __________________________You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.I kiss the maltese cross around my neck and I say a prayer before I go in the burning building. __________________________You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you.I pray that my brothers next to me come out alive and we watch out for eachother..for we know the value of a true friend and are brothers for life. __________________________You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.I crawl around a pitch black, totally involved house searching for the old lady and her grandchild that didnt make it out. __________________________You complain about how hot it is.I wear my heavy gear, not takeing it off in the 900 degree heat and flames for I appreciates the heat and learns to deal with it __________________________You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.All I got was a MRE from a rehab truck because I only have a 10 minute break before I have to go back out and try to stop the three hundred acre grass fire from reaching any houses. __________________________Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.I wear the same things for days, but I makes sure my trucks, gear, and equipment are clean. __________________________You go to the mall and get your hair redone.I didnt have time to take a shower or brush my teeth this morning because I got a four alarm fire. __________________________You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night.I go sometimes days not going home or seeing the ones I love. __________________________You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.I look at the picture that I keep in my gear and kisses it and says baby i promise im comeing home soon and if i dont I love you and i just hope i did everything in my power to make you happy. __________________________You roll your eyes as a baby cries.I sit on the curb and my budies kneel down and cry and say a prayer for the child that didnt make it. __________________________You criticize your local firestation because they got behind you andwere holding down the airhorn trying to get you to get out of the wayI pray even if you dont move out of the way that we can make it in time to save the people inside and maybe even the house. __________________________You hear firefighters joke around and say they are nothing but a bunch of jackassesI hear the tone and I'm are ready in a moments notice, its all fun when its just me and my buddies at the station playing around, once that tone goes off its all work and no play! __________________________You hear on the news some firefighters were laughing at a wreck and think assholesI see the only way to try not to cry out in front of everyone because someone didnt make it was to tell a joke about one of his buddies. __________________________You stay at home and watch tv.I take whatever time he is given to clean, eat, fix something at the station, cook, wash firetrucks, and then relaxe for 20 minutes and has to go assist a medic unit with a collapse patient. __________________________You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable.I crawl into a single person bed with a stiff pillow and just a sheet at 4 in the morning to try and sleep until 5 before I have to go to my next shift at one of the other stations. __________________________You sit there and judge him, saying he is stupid for running into a burning buildingIf only there were more men like me!Amen Brother 10 REASONS TO DATE A FIREMAN!!!!!!!!! . DAMN, that uniform! 9. They find it hot and leave it wet 8. They're good and trained in mouth to mouth 7. Anyone that can carry their hose over their shoulder has something goin for them 6. They can quickly and efficiently solve any problem 5. They always maintain their umm . . . . apparatus 4. You know he or she is in damn good shape 3.
