Music is for making

About Me

The slide show is in a relatively chronological order, I wish I was still 17, as in one of the early photos (this was my "Carrie" moment, see my blog, "Geeks Rule"), but time does march on. Life is short! Live it in peace and be kind to your fellow human.
I make my living researching singing at the University of Tennessee, but my real passion is making music. To find out more about my day job, check out my UT web page .I sing with:
The Knoxville Opera Company and will start singing with Carroll Freeman’s wonderful UT Opera this year!
The Cavern Choir , an internet-based early music ensemble that is, as far as we know, the only virtual, multi-singer vocal ensemble in the world. Visit our myspace site to find out more about this great group of singers. To listen to part or all of the choir’s winter concert, Winter Holidays of Renaissance Europe, visit the Cavern Communications Network webpage . I personally suggest Track 3.
The Nomadams , a motely group of women who just want to make music.
Everyone should make music, even if its just for fun. Especially if its just for fun.
The first song was written by the director of the Cavern Choir, Domahreh. It was debuted on April 5th 2008. The Tomas Luis de Victoria motet is being performed by myself and three members of the Cavern Choir, Junee, BeatFox, and Domehreh. The wonderful piece by Guerrero is being sung by myself, Hailahh, BeatFox, and Domehreh. They were performed by the entire group of 12 singers at our holiday concert.
The Praetorius piece is being performed by almost the entire Cavern Choir, but the soprano line is being sung by CelticLark and myself. I’m proud of this because I AM NOT a light lyric soprano and CelticLark is (and a wonderful one at that), and somehow, through many recordings on my part, I managed to blend with her.
Enjoy listening.
