Just expanding my network of friends...whatever happens, happens.
Ohhhhhh...wow...alright...mmmmmmm...firstly there's the holy trinity: Tori, Bjork, PJ. Other faves really change daily though...Switchblade Symphony, Bella Morte, The Cure, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure (was a great concert!), Harry Connick Jr. (purrrrr!!), Gomez, Rufus Wainwright, Cat Power, Ladytron, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Goldfrapp, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, Son House, Adult., cabaret voltaire, 'eche 'ode, Howie Day, Ben Lee, Tom Waits (a US tour PLEASE!!), Death in Vegas, Splashdown, N.E.R.D., Air. . .ad infinitum.
Hmmmm...well, alright...movies. *grins* Pretty wide tastes there as well, I guess. Let's start off with all time favorites. In the category of comedy, we have...*drumroll*please*...'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.' Alright, alright...it's a great drinking movie. I had to recently educate a friend of mine (name witheld to protect his identity) in the nuances of this fine example of a British comedy. *sighs* Classic movie...would probably have to be...'Imitation of Life.' Lana Turner's smokin'. :-P Foreign Film...'Delicatessen.' Who knew the French were so twisted?!?! Mmmmm...feel-good movie(s): any of the Godzilla movies (excluding that last thing they tried to pawn off as Godzilla...what WAS that?!). Cheesey goodness. And speaking of goodness...*grins*...Evil Dead rocks. 'Gimme some sugah, baby!'
T.V.? What's that?! *chuckles* Mmmm...well, don't really watch very much of it, but I do enjoy things like The Simpsons, Will & Grace, South Park, Ab Fab, occasional Buffy or Charmed watcher too (thanks Beck!).
I'm a fairly avid reader here, when I'm not reading textbooks (UGH!). I've already started picking up a few books for summer reading: Blood Canticle (Anne Rice), The Idiot (Dostoevsky), Thus Spoke Zarathustra (Nietzsche). *grins* Fun, huh? Books I've read in the past that I have, or plan to, read again...Atlas Shrugged (Ayn Rand), Philosophy of the Bedroom (Marquise de Sade), The Legends of Tristan and Iseult (collection), The Lord of the Rings collection, The Hobbit. Favorite authors: Ayn Rand, Anne Rice, CJ Cherryh, Isaac Asimov, Chuck Palahniuk (only read one so far, Lullabye), Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs (I'm fascinated by the whole 'Beat' movement), Piers Anthony (Really loved the whole Xanth series), Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkein, CS Lewis. Ummmm...I'm sure I'm forgetting several, but you get the general gist of things.
