About Me

Hey I'm a 27 year old UBC student. I currently live in Vancouver, Canada although, I'm thinking that I'll move down to Southern California after I'm done school. A person can only take so many years of what seems like endless rain. I'm working on being a more compassionate person and less of a judger. I'm an ethically commited vegetarian. This sometimes causes quite a stir in the meat centered culture that the West has become.I'm a married father of two beautiful children. I can't believe I've waited so long to start up a myspace account, and then just when I get here everyone seems to be going to facebook...typical, I always miss everything.

My Interests

Music:

U2, Bob Dylan, KT Tunstall, Corrine Baily Rae, Madonna, Blondie, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Rufus Wainwright and Fleetwood Mac. I like a little of everything. With Country, I tend to shy away from songs in which Jesus makes numerous appearences... yes I'm talking to you Carrie Underwood, I can steer my own friggin wheel, thanks. Also Country with a "yay America" vibe or songs in which I feel smothered under the weight of the almighty flag...yes I'm talking about you Toby Keith...tend to be ignored. As for rap...I try to keep my heaping offerings of misogyny to a minimum..so that eliminates alot of rap.

Movies:

Brokeback Mountain, American Beauty, Moonlight Mile, Arlington Road, The Silence of the Lambs, Girl Interupted, Thelma and Louise, One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, The Goodgirl, Back to The Future, Proof, The Shawshank Redemption, Zodiac, Jarhead, Mr and Mrs Smith(it's fun)..also pretty much anything that Jake Gyllenhaal apears in, with the exception of "Bubble Boy"..everyone makes mistakes. Honourable mention goes out to several Anglina Jolie films.

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, Boston Legal, Without a Trace, Desperate Housewives, Men in Trees, Nip/Tuck, and Dead Like Me.

Books:

Lady Oracle(Margaret Atwood), The Handmaid's Tale(Atwood), most of Margaret Atwood's books, True Crime and everything that Ann Rule has had published.

Heroes:

Ghandi, The Buddha, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and bell hooks. I hesistate to use the word heroes however, they are just people that I think are insirational. I don't really have anybody that I annoint to "hero" status, we're all just people.
