I am a simple 35 year old brother who loves the Lord and desires to serve Him more fully. I teach the Bible on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings at a small Vietnamese church. I once was married but my family left me in 1998. I went one way in life. They pursued other directions and lifestyles. Since then, they have had nothing to do with me.
Today, my focus is not so much on the pursuit of money as it once was. Now, my pursuit is to run the race and follow after Jesus as fast as my legs will carry me.
Besides my work at the church, I am a building contractor working part time right now while trying to care for a sick father. After the Lord releases me from that, I want to pursue the ministry overseas, with my heart being primarily burdened for S.E. Asia. To that end, I hope to use my knowledge to help empower the impoverished (both physically and spiritually) people to change lives forever. I want to use social entrepreneurialship to finance the ministry while waiting for the Lord to be the one to open doors before me that no man can shut.
I feel that the Lord has given me vision for a number of enterprises that can help accomplish these goals. I would like to work with the Cambodian government to establish sustainable agroforestry projects that would provide income through valuable timber for furniture production as well as palm oil for food and biofuel production while still allowing 75-85% of the land to still be available for food and cash crop production, thus helping to support the local population.
I want to build family and community based homes and schools and businesses for orphans and those who are subjected to the abuses of drugs and sex labor in order to provide, not only food and clothing and shelter, but also HOPE through education and training and job opportunities. I envision widows with no family who would love to work in these homes to help care for the children, thus giving them renewed direction and meaning to life.
More than anything, I just want to make myself available and prepared in order that the Lord will want to use me as one of His instruments in the earth today, a worker in the vast harvest that needs to take place.
