"Dago Te" Hello

Although my personality is more in tune with the wolf, my favorite animal, in the wild, is the moose. I think because it shows to the world that the Creator has a sense of humor. Creating such a majestic strong animal with such a innocent humorous look.Anyone who has ever lived or visited Montana knows they take their beer VERY serious! I personally don’t like beer, but I love the logo and aluminum bottles they have for Moose Drool, so I collect them!HaydenMy adopted wolf from the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, West Yellowstone, Montana . From the Gallatin Pack meet, Hayden. He has a wonderful deep howl and usually will be the last to call out during a group howl. Hayden, along with the other wolves, helps us to better appreciate and ultimately respect the wolf. Click the picture below to visit their site in West Yellowstone, Montana. In my professional life I work for the Department of Homeland Security-Emergency Management. I am part of the Region 9 cadre. I am also Director of a non profit service called "Wildfire Recovery Assistance".Wildfire Recovery Assistance

When I'm not on deployment I like spending time with my family and friends from my mountain home. I am the proud owner of two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, named Benson's Bojangles Tramp, "Tramp" for short, and Tramp's Lady Love, "Lady" for short. In reality they look more like this!LadyTrampI am part of the local Community Emergency Responce Team (CERT).I'm part of the Navajo County Search and Rescue, and our local VOAD. I am also a member of MADD. For FUN I enjoy my 15 grandchildren and their parents, and my hubby too! Life is good, very good! Monty and I have 15 grandchildren. Dion's children are: Amanda, Rebekah, Tyler, Newly and Tylyn Rose. Stevi's children are: Cassandra, Joselyn, Tristan and Serena. Daniel's children are: Miranda, Tanner, Coda, Alanna, Bryanna and Dominik. I served as the Wildfire Recovery Director for over 2 years following the Rodeo/Chediski wildfire (largest wildfire in Arizona history, effecting apx 1/2 million acres and 10 communities). I took care of over 800 private property owners who were effected by the "Monster". In the process, I made a ton of friends and even though it was a difficult time I will always cherish the friends I made.(Some pics of fire in my albums)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

After further reflecting on this question, I have changed my mind. I don't really think there is anyone I'm dying to meet. Most of the really important people in my life are already here. But who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Music:

I love bagpipes and Native American music the most. But I can listen to and enjoy all kinds of music, but rap just doesn't speak to my soul.

Movies:

I love historical based stories and sci-fi.And I'm always thrilled with any movie Jay is in.

Television:

I enjoy Jericho and 24!

Books:

Anything "history"!

(Pic of my daddy & Uncle Archie-Taken Thanksgiving 1934)

(Pic of me & my daddy, I was 10 months old. Pic was taken just after my mom's burial.)

My daddy 1st "new" car.(Not the real deal, just a picture, I would LOVE to have the "real" one!!!) 1948 Ford Tudor. The selling price was $998. He was so proud of it!!!

Heroes:

My list is really quite long! My mom, who made the sacrifice of her life for mine. With humble thanks, mom!
My daddy, the late G.W. Atchison who taught me the honor of his military service during WWII, and to LOVE MY COUNTRY! My dad was a member of the 66th Infantry Division (Panthermen), and a survior of the DEC. 24, 1944 sinking of the SS Leopoldville in the waters of the English Channel. He was injured by flying debris and received a Purple Heart, but went on to fight. He was back in active combat on Jan. 1, 1945. I am very proud of my dad and all those who faught to keep us free! Our military today and in yester-year. Audie Murphy, Senator Berry Goldwater (who I had the honor of knowing personally), and Senator John McCain. All Fire Fighters and Police. I have a special place in my heart for "Hot Shots" (Their work is so hard, most people could never do it)My Newly, who fought hard for his life. The wonderful Doctors who preformed open heart surgery on him at 5 days of age. Dr Jeff for all his miracle moments for my grandchildren, both Packers & Arellanos. Hotshot,Rick Lupe, I miss you! Rick lead his hotshot crew through long hours of dozer work to stop the Rodeo/Chediski wildfire from attacking the communities of Show Low, Lakeside and Pinetop. It was his plan and his men who stopped the "monster" in it's tracks. Tragically we lost Rick a year later to a prescribed burn. He was such a humble sweet man, I will always miss him.)I also believe anyone who volunteers their time for the service of others is pretty heroic. I organized over 6 thousand volunteers to help during the recovery period following the wildfire. I am also known as a Wal-Mart cheer leader. They are also my heros. Their service to the communities throughout the US is amazing. From small groups such as 4-H or Scouts to helping in times of large disasters, they were the 1st to offer.. Billie Graham. And of course, Goyaalé (Geronimo), the first leader of America's "Homeland Security" and a true warror! Fighting for family and home! Not really in any order!Visit the links below, the information is a good thing to know. STAY INFORMED! Posse SiteKC130.ComMove America ForwardVets For Freedom

I hope everyone enjoyed my "person of honor" series.

I truly hope you learned something you didn't know before.  There are so many wonderful people I could honor in this way, that it was really hard to pick just 4.  Have a great week.
